Last call. The ebay auctions end on these tomorrow.

Fretted:

Fretless:

They're going cheap. $700 each with 1400 work done on them. Going for about 1000 each.

My aim was to make two seven strings that could trigger midi or Roland VB-99. It was an expensive upgrade but it worked.

I enlisted the help of SF Bay Area luthier Gary Brawer of Stars guitars. We upgraded the analog pre-amps with Bartolini with three band sweep. We installed RMC peizo pickups which have their own custom setting on Roland V-bass and VB-99. We added a toggle switch to the bass for switching between patches and a peizo-magnetic pickup blend knob as well. Gary Pleked the frets on the fretted model--fancy laser fret-dressing to very low action and zero buzz.

Through a VB-99, these basses can sound like anything from an upright to Victor Wooten to a fretless. Endless possibilities.

The fretted model has some finish damage at the heal strap-button (see picture) otherwise no cracks or scratches of any significance. They are in excellent condition and the necks are smooth and true.

Here are some pictures and feel free to write with questions.

Are you able to play all 7 strings through a V-Bass? I thought it maxed at 6?

I can't believe these haven't sold. $700 would be an amazing price without the midi
upgrade. I have a midi 7 and it works quite well with the axon converter. This is a steal of a deal. These are some of the best basses you can get from korea. If you haven't tried and ERB, this is a great opportunity.

Hi Rowka,
It maxes out at 6 but you gang the B and E string and there's no problem. there would be if you tried to play chords on the B and E but that's so low and muddy that's not an issue. Otherwise it's perfect.

Long gone, alas. Happy hunting. If it's any comfort, let me say that in my experience the RMCs tone was never as good as the less elegant GK-3. I had my highly-qualified luthier talk with RMC about it and they ended up confirming my suspicion. I now have a Conklin BD seven which has infinitely better tone than the GK's and a Tom Clement six string with the GK-3. Very satisfying.
