The Last Two - Fender AmDlx FMT V & Sandberg Custom 5 Soundclips and lots of pics

I just don't know anymore, lol! I want 2 solid basses that I can just hand onto forever; One fretted and one fretless, but I can't seem to hang onto anything! I really want to stop buying, selling and trading basses but I refuse to settle on something that I don't absolutely love so my last 2 basses are for sale. I'm sure I'll have at least an idea of what I want by the time one of them goes.

Both of the basses are in great condition. The Fender has some typical player wear and a small (2 mm) mark on the back where solder went thru the finish (no burn mark just bare wood). The Sandberg has a blemish on the tip of the lower horn where it looks like someone tried to install another strap-lock but other than that it's fine. the Fender will ship with it's OHSC and the Sandberg with it's gigbag. Both will be packed well enough to stop bullets.

Fender American Deluxe Jazz FMT V - Of all the basses I've owned including my Spectors, this is my favorite. It looks amazing, sounds amazing, and can handle anything that you throw at it and then some. It pretty much confirmed for me that I really dig jazz basses. Don't be too surprised if I take this down soon! I've put over $500 into this bass (Bartolini pickups and preamp, sadowsky knobs, all professionally installed, intonated and setup) to make it sound awesome and it does but I'm after something else. Maybe a jazz with 70s spacing? You choose the pickups that you want or get both for an extra $100 . The clips of the bass are both with the Bartolini pickups and stock Fender preamp.

UPDATED PICS POSTED! CLICK FOR MORE!!

BODY:: Alder
TOP:: Quilted Maple
NECK:: Maple
FINGERBOARD:: Pau Ferro, white binding w/ MOP Blocks
PICKUPS:: Bartolini 57CBJD1 or Delano JC 5HE dual in-line humcancelling jazz pickups (your choice, Delano's currently installed; or both for an extra $100)
PREAMP:: Bartolini HR-4.7A/P 3-band preamp with 3-way mid-selector (250/500/800Hz)
SCALE:: 34 inch. 22 frets
STRING SPACING:: 18mm
WEIGHT:: less than 10lbs
EXTRA: Full Schaller Strap-Lok system
SOUND/VIDEO CLIPS:: Clip 1 Clip 2

Sandberg Custom 5 - Deep, thick tone with powerful lows and low mids and a crisp top end. It's somewhere between a Sadowsky M5-24 and a Ken Smith but with the added tonal versatility thanks to the coil tap switches.

BODY:: Mahogany
TOP & BACK:: Wenge
NECK:: Maple
FINGERBOARD:: Rosewood
PICKUPS:: Sandberg MM style pickups series/parallel/single switches on both
PREAMP:: Glockenklang 3 band w/ active/passive push/pull on volume
SCALE:: 34 inch. 24 frets.
STRING SPACING:: 17.5mm (adjustable to 19mm)
WEIGHT:: less than 10lbs
SOUND/VIDEO CLIPS:: Clip 1 Clip 2

More clips can be made on request for those who are seriously interested .

The Fender can be yours for $1500 shipped and insured in the CONUS. International shipping is available if the buyer is willing to take on full shipping costs.

Trade offers are welcome but I'm really picky apparently so... yeah

They are! Also, I'm thinking about taking down the FMT V. Just got a new amp and somehow it sounds just right now, just waiting till the honeymoon phase is over to see if this tone change is the real deal or all in my head.

That was the original plan, sell the Sandberg and buy and SB, but I've found another bass that is just calling to me so if at least one of these manages to sell in that time I'm going for it.

That is a killer FMT, I have wanted one so bad, I just put a deposit on a Lakland otherswise I would be all over that one. It sounds as good as any J I've heard... 70s position? Forget it, I'd keep this one! I had a true '75 J Creme and maple, sounded terrible. You'll miss this one and I usually don't go for Pau Ferro boards...

Hehe, makes me wish I had put this up earlier . The pickups are actually in 60s position and sound great. You can still get a nice Jaco-type growl from the bridge pickup solo'd. To date I have only ever missed one bass that I've sold. When this goes that number will go up to two . Hopefully, the bass that I just bought will minimize the regret, lol.

Well I just picked up a new bass so I'm after cash only now but you've got some sweet basses so I'm sure that they'll sell sometime soon .

Looking for a new head so if you want to offer one along with some cash maybe we can work somethin' out? I'm looking at a Markbass LittleMark II Marco Edition, F1, or GK MB500 but feel free to offer something else in that size range!

If this were any other bass you would've had a deal right there but this one's got tone that's gonna take me a bit to shake off! I'm A/B'ing it with a bass I just bought and I just can't decide !
