late 80's Ibanez sr 885le upgraded- gary willis style

another bass from the "im probably not going to use too much" pile. this is a killer bass for willis fans or those that like that tight, close to the bridge hadrien feraud sound.

japanese made sr885le. this is the same model gary willis was playing before the single pickup sig model. its been upgraded from its stock form. first off, its got a 2 band bart ntbt pre wired vol, vol, tone, bass/treble stack. the pickups have been swapped for some single coils as well. all around, way better tone.

its also had the neck shimmed and a partial refret/leveling performed for boutique playability.

that and the color is freaking awesome

its got a couple of dings/chips in the finish that have been touched up with matching paint. its missing the truss rod cover.

heres a soundclip. one track of solo'd neck pickup playing some paul jackson style bass and a track of solo'd bridge pickup blowing on top, playing herbie hancock's actual proof.

fingerstyle-both pickups

mind you the strings are super old. like scary old i was using a lot more bass boost on the herbie clip than the others.

400 shipped and insured via usps. comes with ohsc

Man, if I had the extra money right now I'd have you send it my way....I really do need a fretless and this would obviously be a good candidate. School has got me slim on funds in every way these days.

Joe, you sound great man.

Honestly man, I love that we can all inspire, learn and push each other through the internet all over the country/world....it's one positive thing to be found out of this completely impersonal madness.
