Lawsuit PBass

Sign in to disble this ad
Plays really good. Set up with a crazy low action. The neck is perhaps the nicest PBass neck I have played. Brass nut and Fender flatwounds.
Body has plenty of dings but overall looks nice. $200.00. PayPal.

er flatwounds

Cool looking bass. "Lawsuit" is thrown around a lot. What year is it from and can we see the neck plate? Is it MIJ? Do you have any more info about Maxx basses? maybe I am just ignorant but I think some more backround about the instrument would help it sell faster. Good luck with the sale!

Yeah "Lawsuit" annoys me too. Should be a Made in Japan visible on the neckplate (last pic) though. Comes with a case too. I cannot find any info on the MAXX brand. Definitely built by a major Japanese manufacturer of the period.

cool, i have not seen another Maxx bass before this. as others have said no info on the net about these

I have a Maxx Jazz bass. same logo though with "Maxx Electric bass". brass nut.

i stripped it to refinish it since i got it for cheap. turns out the paint was nitro and the body is a beautiful ash.

full size pots but the pickups seem cheap.

mine is a maple/maple neck with the block inlays

Nice! Can't remember for sure but I saw the same font (Electric Bass) on an ARIA of the same era. I would be surprised if mine was solid and not laminate. Although it is extremely resonant and light, it looks like laminate in the picture of the chip (last pic). Would love to see pics of your Maxx Jazz.

This is a great price for this era Japanese bass - If I hadn't just bought 2 others myself, this one would be mine. You interested in any trades?

Yes, I would be interested in a trade. I am trying to sell off two other basses in an attempt to get one really nice bass. What have you?

from that chip it does look like yours could be laminate. i pulled out my Maxx and they must have different levels of quality. i couldnt find my camera so i took a couple with my phone.

this Maxx Jazz has 2-piece body of what i believe is ash. the neck is a slab maple on maple with block inlays. truss rod adjust at the heel.

as you can see, i (quite regrettably) used a chisel to route out the body for a P-bass pickup in the neck position.

Wow. That is sweet. Bet it wouldn't be hard to fill the pickup route and slap a pickguard on it. You definitely should because mine even with the laminate body plays and resonates great. Cool to see another Maxx out there and thanks for the pics.
