LeCompte CBSC-4 in very good condition

Up for grabs is a very nice LeCompte CBSC-4. I've had this bass for about two years and although it plays and sounds great, its not for me. This particular one is an active model with an Aguilar OBP-1 professionally installed running at 18 volts. the install can be easily removed since the body was not routed or modified in any way for the preamp install.

There are two small finish issues. One is on the back by the neck joint where the finish has been rubbed off. No damage to the wood and no belt-buckle rash. The second is on the front at the bottom of the neck. This is just a finish issue as the bass has been checked-out by a very experienced luthier and has a clean bill of health.

$1300 shipped in the US takes is away.

Well...

A honestly have no idea on what woods were used to build this bass. Its a semi-hollow body with a pair of darkstar pickups. The preamp, in case someone is not familiar is a boost only. The bass has a very nice deep tone to it as one would expect with these pickups but just a very small bit of treble boost will make it sing. Very easy to play and light. Exact weight I have no idea but its lighter than my HYWY-1 jazz.

Fretboard - Brazilian rosewood

Body & headstock face - mahogany

Accent layer - Peruvian walnut

Neck -maple

When I owned it, it weighed exactly eight pounds. It may have gained an ounce or two with the active electronics.

It's a sweet bass!

I really didn't know all that much about the instrument. I figured somebody would chime-in.
