Lefty American Standard P Bass S-1 Switch 2005

Lefty American Standard P Bass 2005 with S-1 switch in the volume knob. In good old black with white parchment guard & tolex OHSC. The wonderful G&G tolex case with the Fender logo in between the handle and.................with the 2 original case keys!

Condition of the bass is around the 85% to 87% range. A few dings but only a few light ones. Mostly swirl scratches. No breaks through the finish. Neck and headstock are in very good shape. Frets are A-OK with only slight wear on the first 5 spots on the E string but no dressing needed and no buzzing when played.

The case is in very good condition around 90% to 93% condition.

What is the S-1 switching? It changes the pickup from series to parallel which is a very nice feature. Series is the normal wiring for a P bass @ around 10.5 k to 11 k ohm. Parallel puts the pickup @ around 2.6 k to 2.75 k ohm which means the P Bass takes on a very bright and clear sound which is excellent for slapping or twangy bass sound and tone.

The S-1 switching gives the P Bass 2 different pickup selections. It's like having a P bass with 2 pickups. The S-1 is passive and doesn't need a battery and the switch is a button in the center of the volume knob.

This lefty can be strung through body or through bridge. It's strung through bridge right now.

To cut costs, Fender no longer offers the S-1 on the new American Standard Basses.

This bass has brand new USA made nickel round wounds. The strings have been set up to Fender specs and it has been intonated. Neck relief is dead on and the truss rod has adjustment both ways. Fretboard has been lemon oiled. Pots have been sprayed with DeoxIT D5.

This "Lefty" is ready to fly! Showing around 9.25 lbs on the analog baby scales.

I can email 15 or more photos. Just PM me!

Fender MIA Standard basses are of the same level of quality as USA Musicman and USA G&L! Check out the prices of a new lefty!

Price $550 + $30 for FedEx shipping. PayPal. USA only. Lower 48. If shipping is less, I will refund the difference. Thanks for looking.
