LEJ 7 Fretless SOLD

Sign in to disble this ad
Up for grabs is my LowEnd Jazz fretless seven-string. I got it on TB in November of 2006. Although I cannot absolutely verify this, I believe it was built in the 2004-05 vicinity for Jorg Schroeder. When I got it, I was looking for a lifelong soulmate, and after trying and trying, there's something about it that just doesn't quite fit for me. This is not an issue about the bass itself--it's the best built and sounding bass that I have ever played, and it plays like butter, too--the neck isn't nearly as scary as it looks.

Here are pictures, with and without flash (true color is closer to the flash). This bass is gorgeous; my photography doesn't do it justice.

As you can see, it's in outstanding condition apart from one minor ding near the lower strap button and a small scratch on the back, less than an inch long (you can see it in the second picture under the left neckbolts). There is also a finish blemish near the control cavity. String wear on the fingerboard is basically non-existent.

Specs

Alder body with maple top
Three piece maple neck
Ebony fingerboard--lined, but the lines are rather dark, as the pictures
Brass nut
Hipshot hardware
Currently strung with Carvin/LaBella flats
Benavente pickups and 18v electronics
34" scale, spacing currently set around 17mm
Surprisingly light 10 lbs., (on bathroom scale)

Price

Traded

Don't hesitate to PM with any questions.

One of my favorite LEJ 7's, for sure ....

How much adjustment is left on the bridge? Could that go to 18mm, and would the neck accomodate that spacing?

The spacing on the outer strings could be widened by around 4mm, I'd say. The spacing on the interior strings would have to be spread around within that range. There's ample space on the neck to accomodate--no danger of falling of the edges there.

As for more pictures, here ya go!

Thanks for a bump! Sigh, indeed. If I can't find a home for it here, I might give it another chance. Or maybe even get frets put on it.

Trades are, of course, welcome. You might be surprised as to what I'd go for.

Hello from Buffalo
I have a 5 string BSX that might make a good trade.
It is full size with a low B, but when it's bowed it's bass heaven.

Hmm, so many who would buy it if they had the money. Maybe I should give you the money so you can buy it.

Wait... there's something not quite right about that idea.

So how about this: Price drop to $2000.

Still interested in trades, too.
