NO TRADES PLEASE!
I put up my L2000E for sale and now this. Which ever bass sells first, the other comes off the for sale block.
In any case, this is the P of all P basses IMHO. Extremely light (shoulder tells me 8.5lbs maybe, but I can weigh her this eve). Very few of these were made, although the exact number is a bit of a mystery. More info on these can be found here -->
Fender 50th Anniversary Precision Bass
These were a special run with special features not found on the P basses of that time (and some things still not found on a P). The necks received a special factory vintage tint (not offered on the standard MIA's at the time), a black anodized aluminum pickguard, special neck plate, butterscotch finish was not avail then either (but was offered ONLY on this limited run bass), tweed case, signed certificate, etc, etc.
I can't tell you how impressive the build quality is on this one. It's amazing. IMHO, it really feels like a Fender Custom Shop bass. Everything is tight, finish is as good as it gets, the wood and wood grain selection is superior to the standard factory selections, etc (again in my opinion). Very tight neck pocket too.
Case still has protective plastic on metal parts, etc. Bass is in amazing condition. Price for admission is $1175. I'm not willing to sell it for less at this time as it's the best P I've ever owned.
