Mike Lull is definetly one of the best bass builders around and this is another fine example of his work.
I picked this bass up used from Manny's NYC, but when I asked Mike about it he remembered building it.
Mike said the bass was built around the pickups which were supplied by the customer. They are vintage and warm sounding. Neither I or Mike are sure about the origins of them.
The bass plays wonderful and has very low action with no buzzing. It is very light weight at 8.3lbs.
It has some good, honest wear. Swirling on the pick guard, blueing of the finish.
It always stays in tune and feels very comfortable and balaced when on. I seem to get complements every time I bring this to a rehersal or gig. It has a very rich, detailed, warm sound.
The bass has been played a lot but has been well taken care of and only has a few small dents that are hard to photograph. More photos on the way.
It comes in a beat up hard case, but well packed.
$1300 Shipped
Only trades considered would be fretted Rob Allen basses, Lakland HBs, Dark starred HBs, piezo basses, all must have frets

If you play a chord, you can hear each note individually, but the treble is not over the top bright. I think the pickups might be vintage, or at least they sound vintage to me.
My favorite tone is the bridge pickup with all treble rolled off, it gets just a little nasal sounding. This tone can really cut thru the mix without sounding harsh or bright.

The strap button hole is not stripped, it was moved for some reason.
