MARLEAUX (Germany) M-Bass Custom Singlecut 6-String - Figured Burl Top, Dibetou Body

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD!

For those who don't know, Marleaux basses are a boutique, high end brand from Germany; each bass is custom/hand-built (this bass would cost over $4000 new). Bass Player Magazine gave a rave review of an M-Bass Custom here: Bass Player Review

This is a top-o-the line Marleaux M-Bass Custom six-string bass with a burl wood top, dibetou (like walnut) back, and maple neck with pau ferro fingerboard. "Glued through neck" singlecut design blends the best of set neck/neck though construction. 34" scale neck is a breeze to play and action is low with a set of D'addario Pro-Steels. The bass is in like new/mint condition - the only things I could find were a few minor scuffs on the body edge by the input jack. No other wear. Frets are in excellent shape with no grooves or flat spots Neck is very straight and truss rod works in both directions.

Specs:
Body: Dibetou w/Burl Wood Top
Neck: One-pice Quartersawn Maple
Neck Dimensions: 2.125" at Zero Fret, 3.5" at 24th Fret
Fingerboard: Pau Ferro
Scale length: 34"
Frets: 24 (+zero fret)
Bridge Pickup: Marleaux Custom Wound "Jazzbucker"
Neck Pickup: Marleaux Custom Wound Jazz Single Coil
Preamp: Aguilar OBP-3
Controls: Volume, Blend, Stacked Treble/Bass, Midrange (Push/Pull for Mid Frequency), mini-switch coil-split for bridge pickup
Tuners: Schaller M2000 Black
Bridge: ETS Tuningfork (18mm spacing, fully adjustable)
Weight: 9.6 lbs

Selling for $2200 including shipping in the US. International shipping is no problem, just PM me for quote. Or I would trade for a 33" or 34" scale 5-string bass of similar value. Comes with a heavy duty gig bag (non-original but in excellent shape).

Marleaux Mbass 6-string

Wow,
I would really like to bring this baby home but shipping, taxes and customs are simply too high. Very nice Woods. I know the Marleaux Basses and in my opinion they can compete with all the big Brothers

Cheers arpi

Wow, your first post ever since joining Talkbass in 2007 was about my bass. I'm honored!

Thanks for the bump and the comments. If you want the bass, we can always work something out.

ya know, i live in l.a., just up the road, and this looks really great. wish i had the ducats and didn't have a bass on the way any day now (well, i'm actually really happy about that, but you get the drift). these marleaux basses have always intrigued me, one of the few makers that i've looked at since i've had foderas. some day i'll play one, just to see.

wish i had won the lottery so i could make an impulse buy.
