Massive, mostly high end sell off: Modulus Pavel Status Aries Pedulla Alembic, etc

Sign in to disble this ad
These are all instruments I’ve picked up through trades and hording and but now am ready to unload. I’m finally cutting back at the job I’ve worked at for 14 years to dangerously low hours to focus on my repair shop. I’ll post a brief description with price and links to their each individual threads in this post so I won’t have to continue bumping a bajillion threads! All prices are OBO and DO NOT include shipping! I’d like to avoid trades as I’m foreseeing a tough, and hopefully short, time financially until the repair business becomes my full time job. I have a few more I’m on the fence about that I may be adding to the list soon…

-Pedulla Rapture J2 5-string, vintage cherry sunburst with matching headstock, tortoise pick guard, Bart pick ups with 2-band pre-amp, alder body, maple neck with nice birds eye fingerboard with abalone dots and 19mm spacing. All paperwork, including original sales letter from Michael Pedulla, owners manual, and truss rod tool. It all comes in the equally clean Pedulla form fit OHSC. The bass has little to no fretwear and is in mint condition minus one little ding on the lower cutaway (pictured below) beyond that it's super, SUPER clean. $1350 THREAD LOCATED HERE

-Status series 4000 fretless, headless woven graphite neck, semi-flight case, fretlines, status jazz pick ups, composite body, black hardware, good to excellent condition, get a graphite neck for under a grand! $750 THREAD LOCATED HERE

-'97 Alembic Epic 5-string, Flamed maple top over mahogany body with purple heart veneer line, maple neck with ebony fingerboard, matching flame maple headstock, MXY pick ups, with Alembic 2-band EQ, All paperwork (including unfilled warranty card), EC, Zero-G style case. $1550 THREAD LOCATED HERE

-Aries Bovidae 5, burled, birdseye, ridiculous maple top, 11-piece wenge/padauk/maple neck, mahogany body with walnut veneers and maple pin stripes, Aguilar 3-band, 34” scale, currently has a set of hipshot ultra lites with custom “up and over” D-tuner on the E-string in the pictures. The bass needs a new mid pot that I will replace before it ships. Comes in an old Ibanez case that fits it well. Not really enthused to sell this, but hey, I’m cleaning house to start over. $1700 with the hipshot tuners and D-tuner (will include the original gotohs as well), $1550 with the original gotohs installed. THREAD LOCATED HERE

-Pavel Hadara Deluxe 5 ,buckeye burl top (w/ matching headstock and pickup covers & knob tops) - wenge core - swamp ash back - wenge neck - macassar ebony fingerboard (24 frets w/ 0 fret) - Pavel Signature Pickups - Aguilar OBP-3 pre (w/boost&cut for bass, mid, treble) - 3 way selector for EACH pickup (series humbucker/parallel humbucker/single coil) - push/pull active/passive switching - 35" scale, 24 frets 18mm string spacing (est. @ 7.5-8.5 Ibs.) - Hipshot Ultralight Tuners 2+3 -
Deep “Set-Neck” design with ergonomically contoured asymmetric heel - High mass Brass Hipshot bridge slightly recessed into the top. This bass is the one with the famous headstock repair documented here: http://s141.photobucket.com/albums/r...0Bass%20Repair
if you read up on the history of this bass you’ll see how impressive the repair was, and as a fellow guitar repair man I can honestly say unless I took a black light to this bass I’d never know it was there. It’s really that good. $2500 THREAD LOCATED HERE

-SOLD! '92 Modulus Quantum 5-string, Coco Bolo top, sold! THREAD LOCATED HERE
-SOLD! Heartfield DR-5 5-stringTHREAD LOCATED HERE
-SOLD SOLD Elrick NJ5 5-string $1300 SOLD THREAD LOCATED HERE
-SOLD 1968 Fender Precision bass SOLD THREAD LOCATED HERE

It's a little beefy, but no warwick baseball bat by any means, just not as skinny as the typical stuff I play.

Thank you! And for a nominal fee there could be frets in the status as for the ones I'm keeping... I've settled on a few fanned fret acacia 5's, a fretless benavente scd, an R bass single cut 5, and one of my friends has an acacia I'm going buy once I sell some of this stuff. I'm selling all these and it'll still be out of hand!

Late 80's: Big, heavy with shaved head. Steinberger player (so was I at the time....and big, heavy with a shaved head...twins!).
Early 90's: Lost a lot of weight (not me, though...mine came later ). Still playing a Steiny or 2.
Mid 90's: Disappeared........

Sound like him?

Anyway, free bump

I'm sure that's him! Crazy psychodelic-ish paint on the fretless narrow spaced 5-string XL-2? If that's the case then that's him and I just put new frets BACK into his Steiny that he had de-fretted ages ago.

After:

Worth the drive!!

Hey Bro,
Thanks for selling me the DR-5 and giving it the sweet setup. I took it to practice tonight and plugged into the SVT-100 ...sounds F*%#$@! awsome! It practically plays itself.
Those amps your partner in crime is working on sound incredible. If any one is looking for warm, vintage sounding amps at reasonable prices ...check these guys out!!
Totally worth the drive from Cowlumbus!!
Thanks again!

Awesome Bob! Thanks for driving down! i'll get a feedback headed your way here shortly. And you should hear Adam's combo after he redid a few things on it! the 40 watt version he finished up tonight smokes, and the strat I was building when you were there sounds ridiculous with the custom Nordstrands in it! Enjoy the bass!

Better believe it ... Yes he can.

I'm just amazed about how well my graphite fretted to fretless conversion came out. Fantastic work!

BUMP for a very talented and all around great guy!

I have no doubt your talents could render that beautiful graphite neck fretted, but I keep telling myself it isn't possible, thereby alleviating my GAS.
