For some of you, this is a dream come true bass and the answer to all of your bass questions....

I modded this bass myself. It took hours of work done over a period of a week or so.

This is a Kawai FIIB made in Japan. Commonly known as the Alembic copy. I have owned a bunch of these and have never been too thrilled with the limited tone of all those knobs and toggles.

I am a HUGE Peavey Cirrus fan - SO, I thought this would be the coolest FrankenCirrus ever made...

I ordered TWO new Peavey Cirrus VFL pickups and Cirrus Millennium Preamp from Peavey.

I routed out the pickup compartments to fit the Cirrus pups. I also routed out a few areas to allow the Cirrus pre to fit correctly. I then routed out a battery compartment. I used heavy duty 9v clips, not the flimsy stock ones. I also used a Switchcraft input jack. They are the top of the line.

Needless to say, I removed the top layer of paint, filled in the original holes with pegs, sanded it down front and inside, then stained and poly coated the bass.

This is the answer to your dreams of having a Kawai / Cirrus / Alembic(ish) Hybrid...

Comes with hard shell case.

Very nice Mike . I love the sound of the Kawai. The Cirrus pickups are familiar n very punchy. They also have a very nice sustain . Notes ring out w a bell like tone and are very articulate to boot.

Neck feels like a Mark King Deluxe Alembic . Some "C" action there. A little meat on the bones.

Dropped bass off at FedEx today, but it won't go out til Tuesday, due to the holiday. At least my part is done !! You will love this bass ! The action is PERFECT !!
