Mike Adler 5 For Sale or Trade

Sign in to disble this ad
I am selling my custom built Mike Adler single cut. It features an Alder body with a beautiful spalted maple top. It has Mike's hand wound custom pickups with matching maple covers and headstock. It has a neck thru construction with Mike"s very thin neck configuration that is scalloped out from 12th fret up. This bass is a great player and looker. Neck width is from 2 1/8 to 3 1/8. String spacing is 1/2 in. The bass has an amazing range of tone and controls are very user friendly. It has aguilar pre and controls are Volume, blend, treble, mid, bass. I bought this bass from Mike at the 2006 NAMM Show. These basses are very well constructed and hold there value. Mike has become very popular in the costom bass building world and these basses go for big bucks. I am selling mine at a modest price of $2800 shipped to US only. I bought an LEJ 4 recently from Brian and I am in love with the way they feel and there tones. She weighs 9 lbs. according to my bathroom scale. I will trade for and LEJ5 only. Please contact me with any offers. Thanx

Mike's a good guy.

btw, 1/2" spacing is 12.7 mm at the bridge. That's almost like a guitar.

Unhappy String spacing

Thanx for the heads up on 1/2 in spacing. I was measuring with a ruler between each string. Don't know much about the spacing thing and what 1/2 in. between strings would be called. Any help for me?

You can put a ruler underneath all the strings and measure like that. Usually, spacing is measured from centre-to-centre.

Mike Adler. One of the best luthiers ever. And he's young.

Maybe one day he'll come back to building.

I LOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVE my Adler 6!

Mike has this unique building style that I didn't realize until I received mine. Rather than the neckthru being thick and "chunkier" than a bolt-on, the neck actually gets a thinner profile as you move up the neck toward the body, making the higher register effortless to play.

Great bass, great maker, and a great guy too!

That was something that I recommended to Mike.

He Jauqo, thanx for the input on my Adler. Met you
at NAMM few years ago. I am a fan of your playing and admire your style. Please keep an ear open for a buyer for my Adler. I love his workmanship but my hands are small and I have trouble with the neck width. Didn't know Mike stop making these great basses. Pitty.

Yes and yes it really is a pitty. But he's young and he can come back.
