MIM 50's Tobacco P bass - P bass man's P bass

Sign in to disble this ad
This is a highly modified (all new but the body) MIM P bass.

Before you get too far, I want everyone to know that this is a fairly heavy bass. 10.5 pounds on the bathroom scale.

Here is a list of upgrades;

Neck
- 1 5/8 at the nut (nut material is walrus penis)
- Thick and chunky like old style "bass ball bat" neck.
- 5A Roasted (yes roasted) Birdseye maple/Birdseye maple fret board
- Frets are vintage style and have been leveled, crowned, polished and dressed. - no fret edges here folks. Just smooth playin

Body
- MIM Fender P bass
- Alder
- Tobacco Burst
- Right Handed
- Poly finish
- Gold Anodized (road worn) pick guard
- completely shielded

Hardware
- Bridge - KSM Foundation (machined aluminum
- Tuners - Schechter USA made
- Hipshot 3 string retainer
- Dunlop strap locks
- Sadowsky style control knobs
- Curt Mangan fusion matched flat wound strings

Electronics
- Tesla VR-B3 P bass pickups
- USA CTS passive tone circuit
- switch craft 1/4" jack
- Vitamin Q PIO .047uF tone cap.
- Vintage Style cloth wiring

This bass is not for the faint hearted folks. She is all P bass. From tone to weight to neck size and feel.

The neck came from "Dickhead Designs" out of Southern California and is an awesome piece to play. No disappointments here folks.

The only issue this great little bass has is that I got the intonation wrong on the first go around so I had to re-position the bridge which left two small holes near the bridge. It is because of this that I am letting this awesome bass go for less than cost.

Here is a teaser pic;

Normally a bass like this would sell for about $900. My loss is your gain - So I'm only asking $600 $550$500(shipped to Con US) I don't mind shipping outside the Con. US, but additional shipping charges will apply.

PM me for more pics.

Thanks for looking.

O.K. so here's the deal. I realy need to sell this baby. She needs to find a new home. I am opening this up to offers.

It comes with Tesla pickups, but if you want something else let me know. We can work out a deal.

I'm open to trades too. So hit me up with what you got.

Trade bait: Class "D" amps like; Genz Benz, GK, SWR, Ampeg, Markbass, etc. Must be at least 600 W.

Thanks for looking.

O.K. how about another bump and a price drop?

Also, still looking for trades - GENZ, GK, MarkBass, TCElectronics, etc.

Monday morning Price drop bump.

How about $500? That is the lowest I'll go. The neck cost $325 alone!!

If it doesn't sell this week, I'll part it out.

BTW, still looking for amp trades.

Thanks for looking.
