Not a gripe or anything... BUT I'm wondering WHY ppl won't sell these internationally??? Is the US post THAT different to ours???
Here all I need to do to send a bass internationally is ..... add the address & pay a bit of $$$$$- which the buyer pays anyway! I usually remove the neck- whether selling locally or internationally, box it as usual & there U go.
IS there some big difference in the way you have to do this in the USA??
Just wondering?

I sent a bass to Canada once and I'll never ship internationally again. I had to prove where it was made, where the wood was from and some other stupid BS that I don't even remember. All I do remember is that it was a MAJOR hassle on MY end. So to answer your question, Yes, it would seem our customs and postal services are a pain in the ass!

Hmmmm....I sent a bass to Canada last year and it wasn't a pain at all. Some extra paperwork, yes but no hassle. Wonder what's up.

Maybe the UPS store didn't know what they were doing. Sure turned me off of trying again.

Ahhh Sheeeeiiiiiiiiiiiitt!!! That DOES suck!!! Our customs are darn thorough, but that seems a bit extreme. Understand your hesitance now tho.
When I sent a bass internationally, I just had a little extra paperwork- like 5 mins at most- & that was it.
Shame!!
Thanks for reply.

My checking with ups.com indicates that the price of shipping to the UK is approx 80% of my price for the bass.

Don't want to annoy any one,but maybe UPS was the problem.I recently purchased a bass from a fellow TB'er(Dave Lowell) who was reluctant to sell one to me here in Canada. It was shipped USPS and I E mailed him if it was a hassle or any suprises on his part from USPS and he said no. Everything went as smmmooth as peanutbutter.

Smile

I appreciate all the discussion about shipping internationally, but can we limit the discourse here to the particular bass for sale, and maybe some offers.

hey i got a great trade offer for you. I have a 2006 mia jazz fretless. Youre lookin for a jazz with maple board. How about we switch bodys? Its a 3 tone sunburst, tort pickguard, custom shop 60's pick ups, 60's copper shielding all throughout, high mass bridge saddles (fender upgrade) string through body, audere preamp with battery box made to body. plus say $150 on your end
