Took it back to passive with Dimarzio DP 126 set, wired V/V/T/T;
Had the bridge and rear neck plate chromed (I hate gold hardware);
Replaced the knobs with chrome knurled knobs;
Replaced the tuners with Hipshot Ultralights (including a D tuner);
Had the frets leveled and polished; plays very well.
Installed Dunlop Straplok pegs.
The bass itself was the Ivory metallic frost color that has faded to a pale shoreline gold. Looks cool. The bass itself has TONS of "mojo" - the guy that had it before me played the bejeezus out of this for years, so if you are looking for a museum piece this isn't it - it is a player's bass that has seen a lot of action by the prior owner. I tried to get a good shot of the finish cracking down by the input jack, and a small discoloration on the back of the neck. None of these things affect the playability of this bass in any way.
This bass plays very well. I had all of the work done by David Petillo of Petillo Guitars www.petilloguitars.com. David does all the work for a bunch of heavyweights, and is one of the most respected guys around.
But wait - there's more! This bass will ship with a beat up but functional case, a gig bag, and all of the original electronics and hardware.
All this can be yours for an asking price of $450.00$375.00 plus shipping! Such a deal!! As far as trades go, run 'em by me. The worst I can say is no thanks.
On with the pics:

Things I might be interested would be a 2 ohm stable head, particularly an Eden 405 or Carvin (but please run others by me) or a gig worthy combo of some sort. Basses would include something with a Music Man vibe to it (a Sterling, Sting Ray of some sort or modded copy) a J or a P, or anything else that might be cool. Modded or basses that have seen action are ok. I don't need museum pieces.
I can do a deal with cash in either direction, or of course a straight sale.
