Just got this in a trade, but this weekend....my boat decided to screw me over and i need to recover from that financial pain. Bass sounds awesome for sure....and is in the exact same condition as I received it in....cut and pasted the details from the trade below....
The P/J setup provides the best of both worlds. The bass is very, very playable and the tone is as clear as clear can be. The Lakland B strings have been described as having piano clarity and I can’t argue with that.
The bass listed here started life as an Inca Silver 2008 55-01 purchased brand new and plekked directly from Lakland in October of 2009.
> Brand new Nordstrand NP5 professionally installed at the same position as the US BG5 by Tina at The Bass Exchange in Los Angeles. She also installed a bone nut.
> The pickguard was custom made and it is held on by the pots and a little bit of double sided tape. No screws holes!
> Taken to Pat Wilkins (Lakland’s painter) for a matching headstock. While he had it, he dropped in a brand new Nordstrand BigSplit in the existing route.
11.2 pounds.
So that's what it is. A 55-01 professionally modded to a P/J setup (and what has been called a 55-57).
No additional holes were drilled for the stack knobs and none for the pickguard. The holes are original factory, the battery box is still there and the original routs are intact, minus the additional rout needed for the P pickup.
The Lakie Specs:
35" scale
Dual stacked knobs control each pickup (V/T V/T) - no separate blend knob
Nordstrand NP5/BigSplit (Passive, but in no way meek)
Plekked
Bone Nut
Matching headstock/decal done by Lakland's paint guy, Pat Wilkins
Custom pickguard held on by pups and 2-sided tape, no screw holes
Dunlop straplocks
Comes with deluxe Lakland gig bag
Condition: 9/10, only "player wear" visible is on the pickguard (swirls, etc.). No dings to that hot Inca Silver body-finish.
