Here is my Warmoth body, 2005 American Standard Jazz PUP's, Mighty Mite neck, Schaller bridge, Fender tuners, Varitone passive 6 way dial PUP selector Jazz Bass...

ALL PASSIVE bass !

This bass makes all other jazz basses feel like toys.

The neck feels (and looks) more like a Marcus Miller Jazz Bass neck than anything else. The neck on this bass is just delightful.

Spalted body is like looking at a million bucks.

Dunlop strap locks built right into the bass.

This is the Rolls Royce of jazz basses. Period.

My guess is right about 9-10lbs. It's perfectly balanced, though and feels great.

Great Question !
I answered that in the OP, but here it is again because it is not ordinary.

This is like a PASSIVE Alembic Spoiler ....

Volume .
Toggle (3 way PUP selector) .
Tone .
On/Off toggle for
6 way rotary Varitone selector. This acts like the five position knob on an Ampeg or Mesa M6. Each setting is a preset parameter. Since it's passive, my guess is that is is 6 differents capacitor type thingies that just act as filters. Setting one is all lows no highs. Setting six is all highs no lows, and 2-4 are sweeping between that.

I have thought of just switching it back to a simple vol/vol tone, but this looks cool and the clear back exposes the intricate wiring, that also looks cool.

cool and to be quite honest with just a quick glance at the pics it looked like the control cavity cover was missing but now that you explained that I can see the clear guard ---nice

Was the body a special order from Warmoth?? I checked there website, and couldn't find that wood combination. Always wanted a body like that, to replace my 78, beat to hell jazz body.. Thanks..

It could've been. I got it the way it is. I do like the Warmoth stuff. Nice looking for sure.
