I had this up earlier but I can't edit my original posting.
This is a Ben Lindsey Jazz. It sounds twice as good as it looks.
I've owned a bunch of relic'd basses and have played a bunch more. This is honestly one of the best ones I've seen. This guy does his finish checking by hand! It looks like a well played and well loved bass. Whenever I bring it out everyone always asks me what year it is. The Fender decal probably helps.
Now supposedly this is modeled after a 66 Jazz bass. However its missing all the key features related to a 66 Jazz (lollipops, blocks, binding) so it looks more like a 64-65 to me. I think, if I remember correctly, it was shaped after his actual bass's neck and not the cosmetics. Fortunately, despite it wanting to be a 66, its one of the best playing necks I've ever played. I'm not exaggerating. Super comfy and broken in. I had a 61 Jazz neck on an old P-bass and it was a very similar profile. Quite unlike most of the Jazz basses I've been picking up lately.
EMG pickups and EMG preamp. I believe its the BTC. Volume control for each pickup and the tone controls for the preamp. Lots of great tones with this thing. Now I know a lot of people don't like actives, and I'm usually inclined to agree, but this is a great warm sounding bass. Bobby Vega is my hero and this gets really close and his tone is far from sterile!
Pretty much new DR Sunbeams. They've got maybe 2 hours of playtime on them.
So I took this off the market and now its back on. Same reasons as before. Mostly because I prefer the wider P-bass neck and I'm not playing bass in any bands currently. Combined with a **** load of basses and a dearth of money, it makes no sense when things I need pop up. Currently I need a mac for school.
I also have another jazz bass which my parents bought me. One of whom is no longer with us, so that one stays de facto.
Ships in a HSC.
