Mostly FS: Spector Euro 4LX, The Achy Breaky bass!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Here is my Euro 4LX which is still, honestly, the only 4 string I would ever need but the urge to try other basses has struck once again and this one is back on the block!

The previous owner of this bass was Dave Moody, bass player for Billy Ray Cyrus! Some TBers have dubbed it the Achy Breaky bass but Mr. Moody goes with the name Blondie #19 which is taped (with masking tape, so it's easy to remove) onto it's case. There is some wear in the "slap spot", some pretty heavy wear next to the P pickup where the previous owner rested his thumb, the back of it is a little dull, and finally there is some barely noticeable wear where the arm rests. The gold plating on "players side" of the bridge is worn a bit as well.

I think $1100USD shipped is a fair deal but this is OBO so shoot me an offer, I might just take it .. International traders welcome cool too if you can pay the shipping! It will be shipped in a fitted Spector hardcase packed and boxed well enough to stop bullets.

I'm really looking for a sale right now because quite a few basses have popped up that I wouldn't mind owning and as much as I love this bass it's far easier to come across than what I've found. But, I may be willing to go for a trade if you have one of these:

Warwick Streamer Jazzman 5
Warwick Streamer $$ 5 w/ 3 band
Sandberg 5
(not the jazz styled ones though), I just got one of these and LOVE IT!

You can hear/watch a clip of me playing my old 6 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlErWeb7NqM

And a clip of the 4 here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3cvZX05L4w

The two basses are very tonally similar so I figure the video of the 6 gives you an idea of how versatile this bass is. They are naturally aggressive and growly and with the Tonepump pre you can either accentuate that or mellow it out depending on what style of music you play. I have yet to play a song that I could not find a good sound for from this bass. Tonally the most significant difference between the two is their slap tone and I think that the Euro 4LX beats the 6 easily there.

And here are the pics!
I'd say the first pic best represents the bass' true color

This is easily my favorite of all the basses I've owned thus far and if these basses I'm looking at sell this thread is closed so get it while ya can !

Not especially but I'll think on it.

The sound on this one is amazing. I hope you can get some buyers. Personally I'm not a Spector guy, but this is the one to pick if you don't have enough for an US Spector. Much much better than the limited edition NS-2 available in shops! At least from your demo hehe.

Yep the 6 string is gone. It was hard to actually let it go and even now I consider trying to buy it back but I really want to try out other basses. As much as I dig Spectors there's just so much out there that I haven't gotten to try and would to so that's where the money is going - to tonal exploration .
