MTD 535 #1719 Ash/Spalted Maple/Wenge/Wenge

Sign in to disble this ad
An upcoming ATV purchase this week forces the sale of this beauty. 2008 MTD 535 in cream puff condition. It has a Northern Ash Body with a Spalted Maple Top, and the ever popular Wenge/Wenge neck and fingerboard that so many MTD seekers are looking for. I've had 5 MTD's, and I really, really like this combination. I personally think the wenge sounds better with Ash than Tulipwood. Nice deep bottom, growly mids, and sweet, crisp top end. Also, has the darkest, smoothest wenge neck I've seen. Like Dark Chocolate!

The plan when I got this was to keep it and my Warrior that's in progress, however the opportunity to get back into something I've always loved means something has to go, and the Warrior isn't here yet..

Recap of specs:

- Ash Body
- Spalted Maple Top
- Wenge Neck
- Wenge Fretboard
- 19mm Spacing
- 35" Scale
- MTD HSC
- Serial # 1719

$3000 shipped in the US (FedEx or UPS Ground). I'll use whoever gets it to you fastest. I can't accept any trades, so for sale only. PM with questions.

And... Pics!

Ack, sucks that you have to let it go so soon! It's an absolute stunner in person (right, Vakmere? ) and plays like I always expected an MTD to play - just wasn't right for me. And yes, the neck bears a striking resemblance to a monstrous bar of chocolate - delicious.

Bump for a gorgeous bass and a great TB'er!

Great camera work. They show the actual colors in the wood as one would see it in the flesh. (What kind of camera did you use)?

It's a Nikon CoolPix 5600; nothing real fancy.

Guys, I'm on the fence about letting this go. I played it this morning, and WOW. I got tons of compliments, including some from myself. This or the Warrior will have to go, but the Warrior isn't due for another month.. Someone might get a smoking deal on a new Warrior.

9.8 pounds and perfect balance. Feels lighter than that on a strap. I'm a wussy when it comes to heavy basses, and it doesn't bother me at all..

I love that case. How the bass is stored in the top! Thats amazing.

Beautiful finish. I'm really startin' to love spalted maple! If only it had fanned frets, I'd be all over it.

The best I can do in terms of taking trades is trading for something that will send at least $2000 cash my way.. Wouldn't mind a Fender Road Worn Jazz..
