MTD 535 ash/wenge #329 $2450 SHIPPED

Let's try this again.....

Beautiful bass made in 1998 by Michael Tobias. Ash body, quilted maple top, wenge neck and fretboard. Other standard MTD specs:

35 inch scale

Zero Fret

Proprietary Bartolini EQ/pickups:
3 band EQ with selectable mid-switch (1k/500hz/250hz)
18 volt circuit

21 frets

This bass is in an amazing condition for being over 10 years old now. The neck is straight as an arrow, the frets are strangely immaculate, and there is only one single body ding on the entire bass that I can't seem to get to show up on camera. Very minor.

Tonally, this bass is naturally bright and modern sounding, with an inherent lowmid kick that really cuts through the mix. With almost limitless EQ options provided by the preamp, I was able to cop the following sounds:

Fat 'Jaco' tone:

Favor the bridge pickup and boost the mids at 500hz (middle position)

Supportive Pbass-ish tone:

Neck pickup, slight bass boost, and boost the mids generously at 250hz (low position )

Modern slap/fingerstyle tone

Pickups centered, slight scoop of mids at 1k (up position), bass and treble boosted about halfway from center. HUGE sound that sounds downright VICIOUS when slapped!

A few business matters.............

NO TRADES
US Deals only preferably, though I will work it out with the buyer for a Canadian deal. Buyer pays extra shipping!!!!

$2450 shipped!!! FIRM.

And now for some bass porn:

Such a stunner...

Such a stunning bass. I am truly amazed that you couldn't move her the first time you listed her, ElMon.

I know you said no trades, but you wouldn't happen to need a kidney, would you? The Russian organ-leggers tell me that my 'spare kidney' is worth $40,000 dollars or exactly one gently used MTD. So I think it'd be a pretty even trade.

Such a beautiful axe. I hope she goes to a good home.

Good luck!

Hilarious!!!

PM me for Kidney Retreival Site location. I could flip that Kidney on Ebay or Craigslist for a HUGE profit. I'll even send you ANOTHER MTD with the extra profit, just for the great idea!
