MTD 635-24 Walnut/Ash FS Only

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi Folks,

Cliff Notes:
For sale is my MTD 635-24. Serial # 1763. Ash body, walnut top; ash neck, maple fingerboard. Sales price is $3,400 shipped CONUS. More details below.

The Rest of the Story
This is an amazing bass. It's just not being played. I've gone on a J-bass binge in response to the types of gigs I'm doing these days, so this bass sits at home. I'm the original owner. The bass was purchased @ Gelb Music in Redwood City, CA, in November, 2008. It's in excellent condition, is wearing MTD SS strings (I'll include an extra set), and will ship in the original hardshell case.

Transaction Nitty Gritty
Apologies in advance if I sound harsh, but I believe in being frank and I want to avoid any unnecessary communication. Price is firm, and is based on what I'm looking to net after PayPal fees, insured UPS ground shipping within CONUS, and packing materials. THAT SAID... I'm always up for a local sale (prefer it, truth be told), so for any SF bay area folks, the cash price is $3,200. No trades. thanks.

Finally, the Good Stuff

Pics & clips...

All clips are with the bass running into a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 and Bergantino HT112ER.

Live clip 1 - Straight 8ths jazz

Live clip 2 - Latin jazz

Live clip 3 - Pop

Live clip 4 - Stevie

Thanks for your time and happy shopping!

MTD

Wow! Nice bass man..... and this is very tempting for me being close enough to swoop down a local deal! Cool clips and sweet solos (clip one... geez). Not that you'll need it but good luck with the sale Jerry.

Bump for a great guy and fantastic player. I had the pleasure of meeting Jerry when he was in Atlanta on business. He is OCD (just like me) about the care of his instruments. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks, youse guys. Sharing some PM responses, FWIW...

- The tone is aggressive, but certainly controllable. "Thin" is definitely NOT a word I'd use...the upper mids are strong, but the overall sound is fat and full. There is definitely the crispness we've come to associate with MTD's, but to my ears there's nothing lacking across the spectrum.

- The price is firm. Not to sound rude, but well...I kinda' thought that was made clear in the original post. That said, I'll elaborate on/extend the local offer...if anyone can suggest a means of placing a verifiable $3,200 in my hands as the bass ships, I'm all ears. Thanks!
