Hey,
This is a great bass. It plays smoothly and sounds wicked. I got it as a donation after Katrina (it was brand new, donated by MTD himself) and realized shortly after that I actually cannot play a fretless bass! I'm an upright bass player and it was just too hard switching back and forth without frets

So this beautiful bass sits in the corner (in its MTD body bag) waiting for someone who loves to play and can give it the love and attention it needs.
I'm looking for a fretted jazz bass for a trade.... comparable price range, if ya catch my drift.
Here is the information on the MTD Bass. I have a hard time assigning it a label of either Kingston, Z4 or 435, but it's modified as such:
the Z4 bass and this bass are worth about the same new. The pickups are different, the wood is different, the fret board is different, the bridge is different, and if you look at the MTD pricing page, a lot of the features on the bass I'm offering are upgrades on the Z4:

The 435 has two more knobs than this one, though my bass and the 435 both have a 2 position switch.
Here are the specs of this particular bass:
35" Scale (string length)
24 Frets (upgraded from standard 21)
0 Fret Width is 2"
Width at Last Fret is 1/2"
Spacing at Bridge is .75"
Pretty sure it's a walnut body with an ebony fingerboard. The finish is translucent black gloss and the peghead veneer matches.
The PUPs are not the regular soapbars that he usually uses, they're the narrow soapbars at the bottom of this page, and they are active:

This has the wonderful Buzz Feiten Tuning System.
I'm pretty sure this is a regular MTD bridge and not a piezo bridge. If it is a piezo it doesn't have a PUP in the bridge. The bridge looks like the bridge on this bass, if that helps:

The strings are just the standard strings MTD puts on his basses when he sends them out. They've never been changed and they've only been played a few times. They'll be good for a couple years, depending on how often this gets played, and they sound great, but I know that strings are such a picky thing and each bass player has a preference as to the gauge and mwa of the strings. (The mwa is pretty good on this bass, though, because it doesn't have frets.)
This bass also comes with a MTD design body bag soft case.
Let me know if you want any more info on this bass. It is a fab bass and it's looking for a good home
Pics wouldn't upload for some reason

But I have a ton, so please if you're interested respond with an email address and I will send them along! Also in response, tell me about your bass/monetary offer (preferably trade)!
