Sorry for the dark pics, I will try to get some outside shots later.
This is very nice. I especially like the maple FB and all-HipShot hardware (the tuners are UltraLites!).
Free bump for an almost duplicate of my old Grendel. Same body color but with wenge board. This bass is unique with it's Bart ceramic pickups, really snappy and responsive bass that is on par with a $2200 super J any day. GLWTS.
Oh man! This is right up my alley! I need to sell a bass and quick!
Beauty, i love blue basses.
Thanks for all the kind words.
Sorry, not sure.
Actually Grendels were his first generation Czech basses; you can tell those because the Grendel logo appears where now you see MTD. Those first Fivers were 34 inch. The next ones are called by some Saratoga still having the 2 J's, flamed maple tops, Barts and a Bart pre (USA) Later Czech basses were named the Beast and featured painted bodies with no preamp. He went to Korea after his Czech adventure and made a few early Saratoga's there (basswood), then went to the Stingray type config. Later the basses became more deluxe with 2 pickups, ash/mahogany bodies-figured tops Heirs, K, KZ, etc. Now his basses are made in China and he again makes a much cheaper version of the Saratoga in a 34 inch scale (5 Strings) along with his entire import line. All of his creations are in my opinion excellent buys for the money--especially these Czech models!!!
