MTD KZ5 with Nordstrand pups and Bartolini pre

Sign in to disble this ad
MTD KZ 5 with Nordstrand big splits and a Bartolini preamp with TMB, push pull passive, and three position mid switch.

I got this from a TBer a few months ago. It sounds amazing, but it isn't visually what I need for my band.

The Nordstrands give the bass TONS of midrange punch - almost too much!

There's some light scratching on the back from normal play wear, but other than that, it's in great shape. It still has the Buzz Feiten sticker on the back of the neck.

$835 Shipped. Possible trade +/- cash for Fender Jazz 5, Modulus Funk Unlimited/Flea Bass, or Mike Lull.

Sorry for the crappy pics - direct result of my crappy camera.

Pictures coming soon, but until they do, it's the Natural Gloss with a Rosewood Fingerboard.

It's a mahogany body, but it's very light. Lighter than most Gibson/Epiphone Les Pauls.

How do those Nordy Big Splits and Bart Pre compared to the stock setup? Clips?

Tx, Gus

I don't have any clips, but I did own the six string version of this bass.

The stock sound has a scooped mid sound with huge low end and highs.

The upgraded system doesn't have as much lowend, but it has tons of midrange. It can nail the jazz bass sound without even trying. The stock electronics can't do that.

I have a clip of the Nordies with Bart preamp. I had the exact same setup once.

Do you know what year this was manufactured?
Do you have a hardcase with it?
