MTD ZX 5-string, Bartolini pups & preamp

Sign in to disble this ad
This is a 5-string MTD ZX bass with a Maple fretboard. This bass is practically like new and has received very little playing time. No wear at all. This is the upgraded version with Bartolini pickups and preamp with a translucent black Maple-burl top and mahogany body. Only noticable blemish is a 1/2" chip off the front top of the headstock where some finish came off. A few dabs with a marker makes that pretty much unnoticable unless looking up close (seen in the photo). Everything works as it should, no problems, plays, sounds and looks beautiful. Includes an almost new Spector nicely padded gigbag. I love this bass but I am selling a few off as I can't afford to keep them all. USPS Priority shipped in the US is $950. Sorry, not interested in any trades.

And more photos....

I know they are kinda' dark and sideways, but better photos of this bass (at least the exact same kind) can be found elsewhere online.

If this bass plays as well as it sounds, then someone should steal this while it's here!!!

Man, this bass is still here? The only bass I would reluctantly consider trading is my Peavey Cirrus 5. I don't think your bass will be around too much longer for that price!

Thanks, yeah that is the only real reason I am selling this one as I already have two USA Cirrus fivers which I like a little better.

Wow-still here. The KZX 5 is the only MTD that I have ever thought about buying. If I had the funds, I would seriously consider taking this off your hands!

How did the Bart change-out effect the tone of the bass compared to the tone in those videos?

^This bass should be identical to the one in the video. The ZX's come stock with the US Barts.

The ZX is superior in many ways to the standard Z's...............its the only 5 I kept and the tone is phenominal........I even sold a reg Z that was hotrodded with nordy dual coils with series/parallel swicthes and an audere 4 band pre over this bass!!!!!!!!!!! Buy it!!!!!! There is NO DISAPPOINTMENTS with this model! Mine is #15 of the first 30!

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THIS BASS IS STILL AVAILABLE!!! When I saw it on ebay, I was sure that it would be gone. Someone else sold another ZX that looked just like yours for more than what yours is listed for!!! If I had the funds and a burning desire to get another bass, I'd jump on this! This is the only MTD that really grabs my ear!

Thanks for the kudos on the bass. Yeah, it will sell sooner or later at the price I stated. Just the economy and all. Bass isn't going anywhere until it is sold here. Once it is sold I'll update this thread, if it hasn't been listed as sold, I've still got it.
