multiple bass bodies - neck thru

Sign in to disble this ad
So here is the situation.. A few years ago I purchased a few bodies from a guy in Brazil who was making really nice "knockoff" boutiquish bodies. He kept using real names and getting shut down by feebay. Then he kind of gave up as the boutique guys were tormenting him. I helped him out somewhat and bought some more thinking i would actually use them all. I have finished some and sold some. here are pictures of the bodies in bulk. any interest and i will send more details of individual items. almost all are mahog bodies with imbuyia or brazilian rosewood laminates - both not easy to get anymore. most have maple with several stringer necks ( rosewood or purpleheart). truss rods included. undersized emg35 routes. rosewood or purpleheart fretboards. on average they have cost me between 325-350 except a few that are based on the premier builder (i wont name ) which cost me about 500. I am not looking to make any profit just move out some stuff. i would like to recoup my cost as i paid plus the freight to get to you

the 6 string on left is sold, shipping out today - hopefully i will get some feedabck on the item for you

update as of july 27 - double cut 5 string -pending deal, single cut - sold, single cut 4 - gone, finished wart available

some of the more expensive ones and a real one next to it.

more

update as of july 27 - ks 5 avail, rit -gone, allie gone

fretless on the right - gone

almost all are fretted. i have added side markers, you will need some luthier skills to finish these. end of frets on the sharp side, crowning maybe needed on some. At these prices you can do whatever and save a ton. or pull the frets and put lines in. cheapest great fretless you will ever have. All are carnuba wax finished from brazil....

PM me or just respond and i will get more pictures and info on instruments for you.

here are 3 i have finished finished are available for $575

I am willing to accept returns within 7 days if no major changes are made. your freight cost however.

That's awesome. I shouldn't have asked though, I just can't do it right now. But someone is going to be very happy with that beauty!

mahog body, imbuyia top, artec humbuckers. series/single/parallel switches. neck a little thick like a early 70's p bass. i wasn't looking to sell the finished ones but i must thin the herd.

$550 plus freight. unfinished wart basses are only 325 so you can finish yourself also.

How are the necks and fretwork on the finished ones? Were they pretty easy to set up or did they require a lot of TLC to get them playable?

i actually started to finish that one for myself. i have put bridge and tuners on it. I always do that before i pick electronics to get feel of how the bass sounds/plays. nice woody tone. neck is a little thick, like a early 70's pbass. small cracks in the imbuyia have been filled with epoxy and just need to sand it down. I was planning on putting an oil finsh on this one. I can take off the stuff i put on or leave on and add to price. stripped down - 350 plus shipping.
