SOLD!!!
This is a 1979 Pre-EB Ray - when I got it, it was in bad shape - had been badly refinished, neck was shredded, frets were not level, tuners bent, truss rod nut stripped, etc. So I had Pat Wilkins refinish it - body is aged Olympic White, neck is tinted vintage. New decal, new tortoiseshell pickguard from WD, new Schaller BML tuners, new truss rod nut, new Dunlop straplock pins, new strings retainer. Also received a fret level, new nut and a fresh set of DR Sunbeams. The body, neck, pickup, all plates, bridge and electronics are original (one pot has been swapped).
Looks and plays like a million bucks but still sounds like a pre-EB should - fat and funky. I've got four pre-EB basses right now and have gotten more and more fond of the skinny necks on my Sabres, so I'm moving this 'Ray. I have the original, Music Man molded hardshell case (very beat up) that I can include or I can include a newer generic case.
