Cool MUSICMAN by STERLING NEW W/ TAGS alder/maple/maple CHEAP !

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought this Musicman by Sterling Ray 34 because it played and sounded killer, BUT it's just not for me when it comes to my band.

It's super easy to play slap and finger style on. The neck is not like a baseball bat as on Fender's. It's 1.65" at the nut, but has a thin profile. 34" scale.

I did a BETTER setup than the one done by Musicman in Orange, CA and I also installed Dunlop straplocks, as I have them on all of my basses. I should've held off on those until I knew I was gonna keep it. I will include the original strap locks, too.

I did leave the plastic and tags on it though. I had enough sense to do that, at least. It comes with the padded gig bag.
This bass has THE EXACT SAME electronics as a USA made MM and sounds just as good, but I'm a Peavey guy.

The ONLY bass I will trade for this is a USA Peavey Cirrus 4 string.

Otherwise, $620 shipped makes this yours ! Let's NOW say $550 shiiped !

- Mike

Very nice looking bass. I think some here are just waiting for the price to drop a bit. The same axe is 680 new at guitar center, and falls below 600 if the music123 discount applies.

Thanks for the info ! I paid just under $700 for it and installed the Dunlop strap locks -

NOW let's say $550 shipped to be competitive ! $560 to the East Coast if that's ok

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the body is swamp ash on these sterlings... Either way, they are fantastic basses!

YES, the body is swamp ash and sounds WAYYY better than the SB14 (still cool bass, though !!) which is basswood.

This bass has thunderous lows, but sounds too traditional in the mix for me. This is NOT a bad thing at all, just I like a hifi sound.

Any USA Cirrus trade offers ???

$550 shipped or $560 shipped to the East coast !

Mike

+1 They're all ash bodies. And most companies don't put clear over alder... It doesn't have much in the way of grain. So the clear or translucent colors usually go over ash.

Oh, my bad !
I'm thinking Cirrus. Yes, in the title I say alder/maple/maple, BUT I meant swamp ash/maple/maple.

I want to sell this but will trade for a Cirrus. USA, of course only.

I see that I am not the only one with a brand spankin' new Sterling MM for sale.

I paid $700 a week ago. I am asking $560 shipped, which is $525 plus shipping.

Make me an offer that works for both of us.

Mike

Me too ! How is this bass still here ??? This is a steal no matter how you look at it. I will not lower the price any less than this. I'm already losing way too much on a NEW bass !! Somebody buy this before I come to my senses !!

if you bought this a week ago and it still has its tags, why not just take it back for a $700 refund?

Because I won't pay the 20% restocking fee, and there was only a 7 day window. It's too late now. I'm stuck with it.

Don't worry--It'll sell. You're still offering a (very) good deal on a nice bass.

Even with that restocking fee, you would have made out with 560 though....

So I was just at my local bass store and fell head over heals for a classic sterling that they wanted 15 for. Now im new to the eb line and was wondering what the differences are I noticed the bridge was different right away but what else. If it's not too much of a difference I might have to take this off your hands

Here's what I know from the bass whisperer on youtube - This has USA electronics used in the Stingray, USA design, USA set up, but Indonesian assembly. The nice thing about the Sterling is that it's a smaller body/neck radius so you can really play the crap out of it. You deserve THIS bass !
