I got this in a trade/deal recently. I needed a spare amp for my students and ended up walking into a deal. I looked at previous posts and $450-$500 seems to be the going rate. I don't have a need for this really, I wanted to try it out for a little while and I was surprised how great it sounded and definitely has a tolerable gap where you could actually settle for that bass as opposed to the MIM Fender vs MIA Fenders.
The setup on this has really low action. No dead spots but buzzes a little when you're at the tippy top/last 3 frets before the last on the A and D string. Can be adjusted out, probably just needs some neck relief. I don't like tinkering with basses that I'm not going to hold onto and if you don't play past the 15th fret you shouldn't have a problem anyways

.
My verdict. If I got one of these, I'd DEFINITELY jump on the 5 string version. It isn't true to the original in tone but damn well close enough AND the feel is nearly spot on. You can tell where they skimped out to make these guys affordable though. Less detail here and there on the hardware, obviously lower quality screws, pickguard doesn't even feel like aluminum. I almost want to say it's some form of plastic with a zinc coat. Still does the job though and is in nearly perfect condition.
Only off things with this bass. There's a little wall rub on the head. The previous owner told me. Jamming out and hit the wall. You see the white paint, didn't go through the finish though so if you wanted to you could get that off of there. Apart from that, the battery in it was nearly dead or something. Said "use by 2006" so that explains how often this bass was used. It had an interesting sound. I swapped out the 9v with a new one, did a test run to make sure the electronics are fine. It was sounding distorted. Apart from that, this bass could've been brought in just yesterday from your nearest music store and you'd believe it. The Musicman Case is in nearly perfect condition as well. I can see one or two dime size light scuffs but that's about it. Closes and latches just fine, no warping.
Just let me know if you want it, PM me. Paypal is accepted, I prefer Money Order but whichever you want :-D
Someone swoop this. This is American quality. I believe the only thing that was imported was the Poplar Body from China then everything else was done in San Luis Obispo. Arizona Locals can get a discount if you wish. I travel between Yuma, Phoenix and Tucson all of the time so Casa Grande, Gila Bend, Awhatukee (sp?) and all of the other places off of the 8 and 10 feel free to get in on this. Willing to deliver or meet.
Just lowered price from $470 to $445 shipped. Need to move this thing because I just got a deal on an NV215. $25 bucks less is a nice takeout dinner or $24 Double Cheeseburgers from BK or Micky D's. Get it with mayo at BK, c'mon! You know you wants you some red meat. Assuming that's what's in it nowadays.
I don't know why but I couldn't edit my title to say $445. It kept it at $470 so I made a new post and am deleting the old one. Either way, it's $445 shipped now.
