What's the neck profile like on these - like an American Standard Pbass or slimmer?

X2 on the neck question. If it has a jazz (1.5") nut more than likely I'll take it off your hands.

It has a 1.625" nut, the same as the American Standard.

Sorry guys, just got notification tonight on all of your posts. And I thought there was no interest!

Neck profile is a great question. Fender specs give it the same radius and nut width as the Am Std P. I'm traveling tonight but will actually measure out the thickness at different spots and post tomorrow night.

I don't have much experience with the bass but don't remember it being as shallow as my Jazz.

EDIT: Fender lists the '70s P and Jaguar with a "C Profile" versus "Modern C" on the Am Std and 60th. I don't know if the new Jaguar is different than the older one, but the neck profile of my older one is nearly identical to my jazz. Now I'm curious too.

Finally had a chance to measure it up. At the nut, the neck profile is exactly the same as my 60th P. At the 12th fret, the '70s P is 1/8th of an inch larger than the Jazz. The 60th P (same as Am Std) is 7/16th of an inch larger than the jazz. So the neck profile of the '70s is almost half the difference between a P and J.

I'm trying to downsize my collection and am not really interested in trades. Give it a shot and we'll go from there.

*DROOL* Man! Oly White and the black blocks...stunning.

I didn't know Fender was still making basses in Japan? So, this is a new bass bought here in the USA? It's beautiful. All these great deals show up when I'm broke.

Any interest in a partial trade+cash on my end? Spector Legend Custom Bubinga in GREAT shape? Or an Epiphone Ripper Limited Edition (black/RW) in very good condition? I can take pics tonight. I am planning to put them up for sale here but would be happy to do a partial trade for your fine istrument.

Thanks man, it is a very cool bass. I ordered it from Musician's Friend when they first starting carrying the product. It came in, tried it out and then got sidetracked with other projects and basses. No really looking for trades - I have a ton of other basses at home I don't play and I don't want to add any more!

Gotcha. The two basses I offered don't get played much either and they are taking up valuable real estate. Good luck with the sale.

Agreed. If I had the cash this would've been gone already.
