I think this bass was a Jay Turser Stingray style. It has more or less a walnut color to it. The headstock was painted in a similar color to the body. The pics depict the headstock as black, but it's been redone to closer resemble the body. I bought it here a year or so ago and fixed it up a bit. I put a Seymour Duncan blackouts preamp in it. The controls are vol, bass, treb. The treble frequency is selectable. It has a pretty convincing Stingray tone. I got the pickup off ebay. It is a late 70's/early 80's Music Man Stingray pickup.
It's incredibly light, between 7 and 8 lbs on a crappy bathroom scale. The neck is thinner than a Stingray's and the truss rod functions as it should.
The bass has seen quite a bit of use and is loaded with various nicks, dings, dents and finish scratches.
It's a great player and hey, it's cheap.
I'd like to get $250 OBO shipped CONUS.
