Hi guys, I'm looking to move my Nordstrand NJ4. This is one of the most comfortable, easy-playing basses that I've ever owned. If it had a different pickup arrangemnt I'd be keeping it forever - I've just found that I'm not a 2xJ type of guy. And since this is one of Carey's earliest pieces there's no way I'm not going to keep it stock - it'd be a sin to re-route it for another pickup configuration.
NOW FOR SALE since I've just purchased a Wal!!!!
The specifics follow the photos. But here's what Bunny Bass has to say about it: Once again it is with genuine pleasure that we are able to feature another exquisitely crafted bass guitar from Carey Nordstrand. This particular bass we are told, once belonged to Carey himself. The craftsmanship, sound and playability of this NJ4 are just as good as it gets! In comparison to the NJ4 Deluxe myrtle, the neck on this bass feels just a bit slimmer even though the width at the nut is the same. There is a little noticeable difference in the fretboard to neck crown depth-more of a flat oval shape. The NJ4 is a killer bass either for the finger style or thump and pop style. The tone is clear and focused with nice transparent highs on the snaps against the fretbaoard. The Aguilar OBP-3 offers a really good adjustable tone palette with nice cut and boost on the selected frequencies. The string action is super low on the fretboard with no buzz at all. Carey Nordstrand again proves that he is an expert craftsman and has achieved a level of excellence in his basses that is the result of many hours of patience, dedication and just plain hard work.
