Nordstrand NJ5

Nordstrand NJ5 built circa February '09. This is a custom built bass by Carrie Nordstrand prior to his concentration on the Nordy series. More akin to the present NX. An excellent playing and sounding bass. Acoustically, you can feel the vibration of this bass through your body. It's hard to beat a one piece alder body, maple neck and a rosewood (same genus) board combo for sound.
The Nordstrand pickups and preamp make for a very versatile sound palette, from vintage in passive mode to vintage on steroids in active mode to anything in between. If you were to order this bass today it would cost over $3500.

vintage style frets / radius 12 - 20
• Hipshot Ultralight Tuners

• Pull-up mid - cut for slap / Pull-up volume for
passive mode.

Ebony ramp (easily removed
and installed)


There are three very small dings, one on the headstock and two on the body near the bridge. You need to get very close to even notice them on the satin finish.

Aw man!....now you guys got me thinking again....you may easily talk me out of selling it. I get that regretful feeling every hour since I listed it...... but I bought it well and am looking to be fair (crazy).

Had one similar to this, but with a different finish and loaded with an Audere 4-band (traded it for a Roscoe I just had to have). Great basses!

Crappy photo (sorry) but the corners of the headstock are perfect. The bur makes it look worn. The blemish is the
2 railroad dents to the right of the N.

Surprises me too. A great bass at a great price.
I tell ya..... it won't kill me to keep it. I've been using it for over a year and it's been awesome. Acoustically it vibrates like an early 60s, well played Fender.
