Nordstrand SC6 singlecut six-string bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everyone, I have a Nordstrand SC6 single-cut bass for sale or trade.

Here are the specs:
Chambered alder body
5A figured, beeswing Australian Redgum body and headstock top
3-piece flamed maple neck
28-fret morado fingerboard
35-inch scale
Nordstrand dual coil pickups with ebony wood covers
Aguilar OBP3 preamp (vol, passive tone, blend, 3 band EQ, active/passive pullout pot)
Hipshot style A bridge
Hipshot detuner on B string
Wood Thg Knobs
2 3/8 inch at nut
3 1/4 inch at 24th fret
19 mm spacing at bridge
10 lbs. on the bathroom scale

Excellent condition. There are a few nicks at the bottom of the bass, but I couldn't photograph them well.

My needs have changed, and I'm now looking for a high-end, vintage style 5-string, e.g., Sadowsky NYC or Celinder.

Straight trades or trades plus cash for the Nordie. 5-stringers only please. $2800 plus shipping.

PM me if you're interested, thanks!

My old bass!!! I can't believe you're selling it! Even though I have much different needs now, I really wish I could buy this one back. I hope that it goes to a good home....

By the way...this is the only semi hollow bodied bass that Carey has made. It was originally made with the very first of his pickups and it had a John Suhr preamp (which was incredible). It now has his latest dual coils and the obp-3. I'm sure it sounds great.

Thanks for the comments everyone. Yeah, if the right trade doesn't materialize, I may end up keeping this one, as it is an incredible instrument.

Definitely a dream of mine. Carey's SCs are just bed wettingly awesome.

Andrew, I was just going to say that... That bass is simply beautiful!

How's the gig with Soul Pimp (Erik) working out?

Yo Jai! You ever make it up to Boston this summer????? Gigs been on hold.

The string spacing at the bridge is 19mm.

Oh, and funny thing about the top.....I got it off of ebay. It was being sold by Cook woods. I've never seen another piece of wood like it.

Oh so tha is where you got that wood... I still haven't seen it around that much, when I was sourcing the wood that I wanted to use for my bennie... 19mm is the only way to go!

Did you put that detuner on there or was put on there afterward you sold it?

OT: As for heading up there... With the wedding plans, new house/car and busy gig with my reps/dealer for orange... it has been tough. Erik is going to be making it down here for the wedding (he's the best man in it!). If I do, we'll hang.

I had the detuner put on the B string. It sounded incredible down to A.

TI Superalloys IN346, 030 to 125. I really like these strings, although they are a bit more pricey.
