Well folks...Here it is...one of the baddest Nordys on the planet, both in looks and tone. Its about as versatile as you can get. The light weight Alder body is routed for both PJ and 70's position Jazz pickups. The fingerboard is Ebony, which has a nice open grain, closer to rosewood, but gives just the right amount of punch and clarity to the warmer Alder. This is a 34" scale classic, and the neck is to absolutely die for. Carey hit it out of the park again.
The Pickups are all Norstrands. It will come with both sets of pickups. The PJ set comes with a humcancelling J pickups and the Jazz pickups are 70's wound singles. The Preamp is a Norstrand 3 band. The controls are..Volume (pp passive), Volume, Passive tone, Mid (pp 400/1k) and Bass. A stacked Bass/ Treble can easily be added, but I dont ever add treble so I have no use for it, and the tone knob is so much more useful for lots of inbetween tones. I dont have a way to record any clips right now, but the tone in 70's is what youd expect. Fat and Aggresive. The singles are VERY clear and punchy. The PJ set is a more traditional fundemental. The warmth of the alder makes a thick, fat P tone, while the Ebony helps clear up the bottom end.
The Overall look of this Bass is STUNNING in person. Just amazing. The Shoreline Gold with the one of a kind Matte Black Neck and black harware, are both elegant and tough looking at the same time. A bass that can be used in any playing situation. The addition of the blocks really says "this one is special".
The action on this one is ridiculously low. Nordys have a playability second to NONE. This one is no exception. It comes with a light weight, form fitting rigid case. 2 sets of pickups and 2 pickguards, both black.
Now to answer the question..."why are you selling it?"
Well...I now am blessed to own 5 Nordy VJ5's. 4 Moderns and this Classic. Ive found...for me, the moderns with the 34.5 scale works best for what I do. I already have a VJ5 PJ and I play that almost every night, so...this Classic became redundant. I just got this bass and its in BRAND NEW condition, Not a scratch, so in order to raise much needed cash..it seemed like the logical choice. I have some other needs right now, so this is For Sale ONLY.
I have a good bit of $$ invested in this and any and all work was done by Careys shop. Its truely a one of a kind bass. someone will be very happy with this one. Please feel free to ask any questions......
From Carey.....
It's a bit unusual in that is has the only painted satin black neck that we've ever done. Also an 18mm B style Hipshot bridge. It's in new condition. I couldn't find a flaw or ding anywhere on it.
