Talking Not Seen on Here Often. First Act Custom Shop Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Don't give me any BS about this being Wal-Mart Junk!!
Built in the First Act Custom Shop in Boston, this is Pro Gear. The amount of Professional Artist using these instruments is staggering once a little investigating is done. This Bass is the Double Cut Away model, it has a Mosrite/Ramones kind of vibe to it. This bass is super smooth, plays like a dream. The Pick-Ups are DiMarzio, and the hardware is Grover. This bass also comes with a hardshell case. The bass has never been gigged, only played at home. I am going to cut to the chase, rock bottom price of $800 $750 OBO(partial trades considered, see post later on with list).

I will add some more (better) pics soon.More Pics up Now!

I was blown away to know that First Act (the same company that sells crappy $99 guitars and basses at Radio Shack / The Source / Circuit City) actually makes some decent stuff.

It's like Casio....crappy cheese-factory stuff....and then there's the CZ5000 Synth all of the sudden.

But keyboardists used to put gaff tape over the logo, because, well...it's a Casio - hahaha...

Like I said, this is not the Wal-Mart version. This is from the Custom Shop in MA. Those are all custom shop players, surely you have heard of some of them. There are plenty more right here: First Act - Artists

They should have given the Custom Shop stuff it's own name and identity....to avoid this WalMart/Circuit City association.

Really bad marketing IMO

One thing I should add is the prior owner of this bass is in a pretty famous band. He did not play the bass too much because he is on the road a lot, has a young child and a tons of basses. He never gigged with it either. I will give you some hints. I live in Gainesville, so there are probably 6 solid answers. And to narrow that down, this band was on Modern Rock radio stations a good amount for a certain song a few years ago. They also toured with Mastodon around Blood Mountain era.

The First Act Custom Shop stuff is pretty tight.

Free bump for a beautiful bass, very cool retro look.

(against me!)

I am open to some partial trades. A bridge that fits Fenders, Maybe a Jazz Neck, plus I am a fool for (quality) effects.

Sweet bass, it still unfortunately carries that FA stigma though. I realy like that pickguard. More companies should go with smaller pg's. Very nice, very nice indeed. GLWTS
