This instrument is now being entirely redone by a luthier and total neck releveling and adjustment will be made, then, the frets shall be added. The wood are Wedge and Bubinga wings, EMG pick ups, 1991, all electronics are tip top shape, no dings or any kind(I guess I pampered it), the neck and refretting will mean it will only take a slight truss rod adjustment to go from super low action, to high action without much truss tension. This is one thing I'm anal about.
So once done, this instrument will be like a brand new Warwick 1991 bass in top shape, well adjusted and with matured wood. Almost 20 year old bass in like new condition.
Frets will be brand spanking new, low action etc.
I'll post pics once I get it back fretted.
Tom

Then it's be like a darn near new bass, fresh tasty frets. How do you know when it's time to re-fret?
Some say 120-200$.
Maybe I'll do that and keep it
You'll be hard pressed to find a deal like this for a nice NT thumb.
I did find the truss rod tool also, so that goes with this puppy.

Should be better than before and like a new bass in terms of the frets.

Should be like a new bass since the frets will be spanking new, nice body, no dings, a little wear on the pick ups, excellent shape NT bass.

is it a 5 or four string?
plus, could we see some old pics of it fretless??

plus, could we see some old pics of it fretless?? | Fretted, then defretted, now the luthier is doing a nice releveling of the finger board, new brass bell jumbo frets, just a slight tweak to change the action is all that will be needed. I'm not the luthier doing this. It's a 4 string, no pictures ATM because there's no point showing an old fretless bass without the new frets and new work Once that is done, then new pics etc.
In 2-4 weeks or so I'll post them. Till then, patience is the word.
I have a nice fretless bass, so there's no need to keep it fretless and wanted to really have it done up nice. The fretted market is much larger than the fretless market for sales. I wanted to maintain the originality of the bass and make some improvements/adjustments so it's a perfect Thumb.
This way if I keep it, it'll be what I want, if not, and I decide to sell it, I know it'll make the buyer very happy.
I'm removing those plastic nuts they add which are tone sinks and adding a nice bone nut that's shaded black to match. This should improve the tone and sustain a little bit as well. Adds to the cost, but heck, I might end up keeping it.
I'll post pics once it's been redone if I decide to sell it.
I think I'll close the thread and relist when/if that time comes.
Thanks
