NY Giants theme Fender MIM Jazz fiver - PRICE DROP!

Sign in to disble this ad
The reason I'm selling this has nothing to do with the beatdown the Giants just received from the Eagles. I've been a fan since the long-suffering 1970s, so I know how to lose. But my job situation (meaning NONE) necessitates this sale.

This bass started as a mediocre, beat-up MIM Fender Jazz I received in a trade. With a lot of TLC, I did extensive renovations, described in detail here.

It now has Lindy Fralin jazz pickups, and Audere preamp, and sounds as fabulous as one would expect. The lacquer finish (my first time) turned out great. Though a poly finish has that almost-too-perfect plastic look, there's something special about the look and feel of lacquer.

The pricing I'm not sure about - I know I'll never recoup the countless hours I put in refinishing it. Let's price this at $685 shipped to the continental US only. No trades, please.

Though because of the theme this will appeal to a narrow group of potential buyers, it would be easy for you to swap out the pickguard and pickup covers if you don't love the Big Blue.

Though the policy of Talkbass classifieds is no public comments allowed regarding the price, I'd appreciate any Private Messages regarding your viewpoint on my asking price.

I really like that bass, Bob

I don't really play 5's anymore though, plus I just paid for my new Barker 6 string, so funds are tapped ....

I'd love to grab it just for the novelty of it all ....

Agree - this is a very cool bass!

I live in Ohio and am a Browns fan so safe to say I would never have a need to do a "Cleveland Browns" bass...I would be ashamed to play it in public

A Giants bass in Horsham? That just isn't right. Good luck with the sale.

Gotta give the guy props for supporting his team in hostile (to the Giants) territory!

Thanks, fellas.

Yeah, I live in a house full of Eagles fans. Please buy my bass before one of them vandalizes it!

Hmmm.

Sunday, November 1, 4:05 PM: The final seconds tick off the clock in the Eagles' blow-out victory over the Giants.

Sunday, November 1, 6:24 PM: Bob puts his Giants-themed bass up for sale.

Coincidence? I think not.

In all seriousness, Bob is a great guy to deal with. I'm sure this bass will make a Giants fan very happy.

I've lived in the Philly area almost all my life and I'm originally from your area - I went to Hatboro-Horsham Senior High School, though it was many, MANY years ago. Needless to say, I am NOT a Giants fan. However, I have no issues saying I think that's pretty freaking cool.

Good-luck-with-the-sale bump.

Born and raised in So. Philly and spoken like a true Phillies, Eagles, and Flyers fan I just wanna say THE GIANTS SUCK!!!! and I hope that Yankees choke on their 27th!!!but it is a nice themed bass. If I could get a Phillies bass or Eagles bass like that I would but Flyers Black and Orange hmmm well maybe. Good luck bump and I am surprised after the Phils loss last night that your bass would still be in one piece esp since I know you fans from the NY area bust chope more than we do.
Bump anyway for a person whom roots for a crappy team in the crappiest city in the world NY!!!
