NYC era Alleva LG5 in Inca Silver nitro
NYC era Alleva LG5 in Inca Silver nitro;
This is a storied and significant bass;
it was the last bass built in NYC, completed on New Years Eve of that year, and noted as such on the neck plate.
Shot with the last of the gen-u-wine Fender Inca Silver Nitro that Jimmy's former Fender paint guy had in his stash.
Old growth alder, super dark Indian rosewood fingerboard on a vintage tint maple neck; and a very friendly 9lbs 4oz.
Plays great sounds great and is, in fact, great!
Comes in a very nice Contego Protec gig bag.
The fair warning:
I got this bass from it's original owner, Kirk Powers; who is svtb15 here. He treats his basses as tools, and not coffee table mementos. So, this has it's fair share of nicks and dings in the finish. This never bothered me, and in fact relieved me of the pressure of keeping it pristine. I treat my stuff much nicer, haven't added any wear to it, and the spots where it's nicked haven't worsened any. But: it's used, make no mistake.
So; you get the best playing, best feeling, "active 60's 5 string J bass" on the planet, and Nitro Inca Silver glow on stage; for about $2,000 less than current retail for a nitro finished bass, and no 2 year wait.
$3300 shipped, but, only for as long as the bass I'm trying to buy remains available...I reserve the right to come to my senses at any time.
This price is killing me!!
what are you trying to get? :)
If it all works out, I'll let y'all know. In the meantime, I'm just gonna try not to jinx it ;)
Good luck Chef...hope it all works out!!!
Gorgeous! I have always loved Inca Silver Lacquer... Great bass!
Nice price, too...
You and Vic in the same day?
Whole bunch of pm's replied:
I'm not negotiating on the price as it's really pretty dang fair for an NYC nitro AC,
but thanks for the offers.
I do not want to ship internationally at this time; thanks.
the bass I was hunting sold
