I am really bad at thinning the herd, I went from 8 to 13(!) basses... I really need to cut down to keep the little woman happy!!! So, I am offering for your consideration the following THREE basses for you to peruse and enjoy... Please, no trades at this time (unless it is too juicy to pass up).
1) 2010 Made in the good ol' USofA Fender Highway One Precision Bass. Honeyblonde nitro finish with a rosewood neck. Recent additions include a Fender high mass bridge (sorry, no Badass here), and a MIA tort pickguard. Overall condition is excellent; looks like less than ten hours playing time on this instrument. Asking $575 shipped with a Fender Gig Bag to CONUS only.
Specs:
Weight (on the bathroom scale): 8.6 lbs.
Width at nut: 1 5/8"
Width at heel: 2 1/2"
Action: Low to med/low

2) Fender Mike Dirnt MIM P Bass. Butterscotch blonde with a rosewood neck. This 2005 Diamond Anniversary model includes both white and black pickguards, upgrade Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder pickup, and a Badass bridge. Overall condition is very good to excellent with only a couple of finish spots/scuffs as seen in photos. Asking $540 shipped with a Fender Gig Bag and all hang tags and candy to CONUS only.
Specs:
Weight (on the bathroom scale): 9.1 lbs.
Width at nut: 1 5/8"
Width at heel: 2 1/2"
Action: medium
Pics: Dirnt Bass - a set on Flickr
3) Fender American Standard Jazz bass in 3-tone burst with Custom Shop pickups and a 2005 Diamond Anniversary MIM Standard Jazz rosewood neck. This is a beautiful specimen of a bass; great vintage tone from the bridge pickup with tone half-way up, or bring up both pickups and tone for brilliant slap/pop sound. Body has some wear/ scratches, but nothing that breaks beyond the finish; neck is clean with some mild fretwear. Asking only $675 shipped with a Fender gig bag to CONUS only.
Specs:
Weight (on the bathroom scale): 9.4 lbs.
Width at nut: 1 1/2"
Width at heel: 2 1/2"
Action: low to med/low
pics: Am. Std. Jazz Bass - a set on Flickr

So, please excuse the extraneous pics of me in Korea, on my motorcycle, or any other photos that are not relevant to this thread.

To be more authentic for the green day sound, I added a PIO cap and the SD 1/4 pounder. This bass has more output and mids than any of my other P's. The only thing missing is a 3-star guitar strap from Moody's ...

And it has low action? Is that a common thing on them? I play a P bass with Flatwound so thats why I ask. Almost opposites. |

I equally switch between pick and finger style, so I prefer my action a little higher than some. Also, some gigs I play require me to tune the whole bass down 1/2 step, which changes the characteristics/intonation as well. The Jazz and the Hwy 1 P are both comfortable at switching back and forth in their tuning, with only minor adjustments (mainly on the G-string).
