It's 100% original, works, sounds, and plays great! I only really want to let this go if it means I'm able to fund other purchases!
$700 US/CAN + Shipping. Paypal if you please. There's some finish checking across the body that doesn't photograph well and is invisible in the right light, but I figured I should mention it. Also the headstock has a light mark across the face of it, typical wear of a bass this age. These basses are becoming more and more sought after - A Magnum I recently went on Ebay for $1300, and a case alone just went for over $300! Get this before it's too hot to afford!
Oh! And the only trades I'm really interested in is for vintage gear - OLD fuzz pedals are the peak of my current interest.

| | | | Kevin, I know nothing about this bass but it looks killer. What does it sound like? Do you have a clip? What is that bridge and that PUP? Sorry for my ignorance on this - I've never seen one before. |

What is the weight?
Nut width?
Fretboard radius?
Thanks!

The width at the nut feels similar to a p-bass at 1 5/8", and the neck has that classic C shape, radius should be 10".
I'll have to check the weight tomorrow, but it seems pretty light to me... in and around 10lbs sounds close... maybe as low as 9.5, but it's not a 13 pound dog like many of these are.
I'll also have to look at the serial # and pots to see a year on this particular bass, but they started making them in 1978 up until the early 80's.
The bridge is huge, and has measurements along the saddles so you can see exactly what intonation adjustments you make. The saddles are brass, and the rest is aluminum. It also adjusts for string height.
Sounds are kinda tough to find on these basses, but check some clips on youtube from Magnum 1's - same pickups and electronics config save the stereo jack. The strings on my bass aren't as new as the example in the video, but as you can hear it's a very smooth, open, and full sound from the neck pickup - the bridge is more like a jazz bass, but with much more low end. It's really a fantastic sounding bass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=njA3i...feature=relmfu
Cheers!

I think at least some of the Magnum's had sliding felt mutes around the bridge. |
