****NOTE: Both basses sold!****
****
Hey guys, I know I said I'd never sell my Fortress MasterMan 5, but after some lengthy consideration, I think I'm going to add another Hambone to my collection so the Jazzwick isn't lonely, and I think I'm going to use Hambones exclusively. This is a big deal considering the fact that I've been a Warwick fanatic for several years, after purchasing my first one at the end of 2002. I've now owned 17 of them, and I will always stand by them as great guitars, but I don't get nearly as excited about them now as I used to, and my excitement for Hambone's work is incredible. To help finance a Hambone Fairlane, I'm selling a number of things, but I guess I can only list basses in this particular thread.
1993 Warwick Fortress One 4-string
I've tried selling this one before and have had trouble because it's only a 4-string, and I think because it's red. But in any case, it's a true collector's item, in showroom condition. It has a rare alder body (rare for a Warwick, anyway), translucent red finish, beautiful wenge neck and fingerboard, original brass Just-A-Nut, recessed straplocks, Seymour Duncan pickups with active EQ, and has absolutely no issues. It sounds great, plays great, and looks great.
I'd like to get $850 for it, shipped with a hard case in the 48 states.

1995 Warwick Fortress MasterMan 5-string
This one is amazing. I've had about every configuration of Warwick, whether it's MusicMan pickups, Jazz pickups, P pickups, active, passive, 4, 5, 6 strings, wenge neck, ovankol neck, etc etc, and this thing is probably my favorite combination of parts. It has the sought-after wenge neck and fingerboard, original brass Just-A-Nut, flamed maple body with a gorgeous honey violin stain, dual J pickups in the sweet spot, recessed straplocks, gold hardware, and $157.50 worth of Hipshot Ultra-Lite tuners. The bass plays as well as any I've played and sounds as good as anything I've heard. I can't believe I'm actually selling the damned thing.
The only issue with this bass is that the previous owner disconnected one set of pots which originally controlled the bass and treble for one of the pickups. (MasterMans had 3 sets of pots... one was stacked Volume/Pickup Blend, one was stacked Bass/Treble for the neck pickup, one was stacked Bass/Treble for the bridge pickup) I'm not sure if it was acting up on him or if he just found it more convenient to wire it so that the other set of bass/treble knobs controlled both pickups together. Either way, both pickups work, and the bass and treble control on the bass still works, but instead of there being a separate bass/treble control for each pickup, there is now one set of bass/treble controls that handle both pickups and the other set of bass/treble controls don't do anything. Like I said, I don't know if the other set works or not, but since I don't want anyone to be disappointed if they don't, let's just say they don't now, and if you find that they do, you can be pleasantly surprised.
I'm looking for $900 with a soft case (it's like a hard case, but instead of hard plastic on the outside, it's nylon. Case is like new) shipped in the 48 states.
