P Bass..considering trades too...

Sign in to disble this ad
Recently traded a head for this one. This truly is a player bass. I hate to get rid of this one, cause this one plays super great and sounds amazing. But, I'm needing some cash and my four string needs are covered by another P and a Jazz.

The body is alder from a mid-80s Squier. The body was painted black. Not the most professional job, but not terrible. She's sporting a b/w/b pickguard currently. This thing has been modded big time. Equipped with a black Bada$$ II bridge. I dropped a 8K Reverend P pickup in it. This thing roars with that pup in it. I replaced the Squier Neck with an All-Parts Tele-style neck. The neck has had a vintage tint applied. It looks authenthic and not like the Rondo orange jobs. The width of the neck at the nut is pretty close to a jazz width. I just got this one out of the shop where I had Joe Hinchliffe at Corner Music do a complete setup on it. $104 later, this bass plays and sounds amazing. IMO, it smoked every P bass they had in the shop. Joe, recrowned and leveled all the frets, re-seated a few of them, adjusted the bridge intonation, string height, action, etc....the intonation is spot on. I can't say enough about the impeccable job he did on this thing. This bass will not disappoint any player. The neck is sporting vintage style reverse tuners. I believe them to be Gotoh vintage tuners, but am not 100% certain on that one. There is a small gap on the treble side of the neck pocket. Nothing that affects tone on this baby, but visually noticable up close.

Like I said, she's not the most pristine condition looking one, but she sure does play and sound amazing.

$300+shipping ....This thing absolutely smokes any MIM Fender and every MIA I've had my hands on in the last 6 months. TRADES CONSIDERED SEE LAST POST FOR WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR

no dead spots on the neck that I've noticed...I don't spend a whole lot time up there though, so never been a problem for me...I can check when I get home though and report back...weight is on the light side of 9 or the heavy side of 8....this one isn't all that heavy, but it sounds like it is. Massive sustain and huge fat tone.... I believe the body is Korean...sorry, no case...unfortunately, I'm running low on cases currently.

it used to say Tommy....originally the neck was on another P bass that was comprised of a MIA body and this neck.....the bass was put together, re-finished and relic-ed by a guy in Texas named Tommy....I've started to peel it off, but have yet to finish the job...

Z-

My apoplogies on the where I said the body was from, it is actually Korean based on the serial number. I checked the neck for dead spots this morning and there are none to be found on this one.

LAST PRICE DROP....THEN I KEEP IT or ...

Maybe I'm having a temporary moment of insanity...$350 for the bass only on this...However anybody wants to arrange that...I'm happy to take a money order to avoid paypal fees....The neck new is $175 from allparts, plus the fret dressing, leveling, setting, vintage tint...there's almost $300 in the neck alone. The electronics were adjusted, pots blown out and cleaned, the BADA$$ II bridge was adjusted and intonated by one of the best setup guys in Nashville (who also did all the setup work on this one). YOU WON'T FIND A BETTER BASS FOR CHEAPER THAN THIS.

Trades considered

Anyone got a Steinberger Spirit or headless Hohner they'd want to trade for this smoking P? prefer a 5 string, but 4's are good too. Paddle style small bodied headless basses? if you've got one, hit me up...

Joe saved the bridge pickup on my MIM Jazz five string. I would take this thing off your hands if I hadn't just upgraded my amp.
