Peavey Axcelerator active fretless with OHSC

This one has been with me for quite some time, and has made its sound known on many commercials calling for an upright bass sound.

It's a Made In USA Peavey Axcelerator unlined fretless in metallic red...9V active electronics, original ivory pearl pickguard, concentric treble, bass and volume and blend. Original highmass bridge. Superb playing neck is ultra thin and effortless to play. Has one of my "FunkMaster Custom Bass" waterslide headstock decals. A set of GHS black tapewounds will be installed on it. Has a few nicks and some touchups but is very nice overall. This is THE BEST sounding and playing fretless I've ever owned...bar none!! I'm just not needing it anymore.

$340 includes the original Peavey formfit hardshell case (not the generic case in the pics)

Could take some pics of the back please?

I might have a trade or two I could toss at you.

I'm on my cell right now. Will PM you in the am.

Is the bass able to get a Mawah sound or would you say it has a more woody, upright tone?

Thanks!

Tony

Hey Tony...

These have a very different sound eminating from each pickup. Very smooth upright sounding on the neck pup, and VERY mwahhhhh on the bridge pup.

Denny

These are such sick basses. I have an Axcelerator Plus 4 and it KILLS, easily beats basses 3-4 times its price. I'd LOVE to own the fretless, but alas, I have too many Christmas presents to buy!

I'll second (or third, or fourth) how nice these basses are. I had a six-string fretted version for a while. Very playable, really nice tone. I just never could find any use for the high C like some players can. This bass is worth every penny of what's being asked and more.

Its a lot easier than you think...unless you are used to standing and watching every note on your fretboard when you play.

That's my "bad habit". I watch every note I'm playing, so I would probably fail at fretless. Darn. Although broke, I was trying to figure out a way to make it work. Sorry...

Congratulations Denny ! I know the new owner will be happy. It is simply a gorgeous and versatile bass. I wish I could've made it work for me, but I know it's going to a better home than mine would've been !
