Cool Peavey Cirrus BXP Flamed Top 5-string

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok, so back up for sale..Peavey Cirrus BXP 5-string. Not sure how to tell country of origin, but this is a clean exception to the rule I must say.Real tight B-string and lotta tone varieties {3-band EQ,Pickup Sweep,Master Volume}.

Brand new set of DR long neck's on it, gold hardware, everything works perfect! Trade bait would be the Double Buck 5 rockbass by Warwick + cash on my end obviously. Asking $325 shipped

Very Nice

Those are GREAT basses. The Pickups are the same VFL models used in the American made bases. The electronics in the Cirrus BXP were offered at one time on the USA models too. They have since gone to offering the American basses with the Mid-Sweep electronics only and these with the Bass, Mid, Treble. Your bass was most likely made in Indonesia (that was where mine was from). I had the first one in Nebraska, got it when I was working for a Peavey Dealer. At that time they were very limited due to Hurricane Katrina. The ships couldn't get into the ports for months and Peavey didn't accept the product. It is also a QUILTED MAPLE TOP not FLAME. GREAT SOUNDING AND PLAYING BASSES.

Year old thread I know... But I've had a Bubinga Cirrus BXP for a few years, and I can not get a decent recording with it. It seems so hot that whatever I plug it into distorts, causing me to turn down to 30% - 20% which kills my tone. It sounds great in an amp with a pad on the input, but I simply can not dig in while recording.

Has anyone had that experience, and figured out a work-around?
