Peavey Cirrus Six String (Alder & redwood)

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello,

I decided to thin my bass collection a bit. I am selling my well-used Peavey Cirrus Six String bass. I purchased this bass from Sam Ash (Cherry Hill, NJ) in July 2009. I had to clean it up, as the previous owner did not take excellent care of this bass.

BASS DETAILS:
Neckthrough construction
Alder body
Redwood top
Pao Ferro (?) fingerboard
Gold hardware (with some wear on them)
It is currently strung with DR Hi-beams. An extra DR High-Beam C string is included with the sale.
The bass was purchased without a case, so I purchased a brand new Road Runner case yesterday for this bass (a $60.00 value!)

PHOTOS OF THE BASS / CASE:
Brand New Road Runner Case:

Full frontal shot of bass when purchased, 7/2009:

Rear Shot of bass when purchased 7/2009:

Serial Number:

Headstock Repair - it appeared as though there was a crack in the headstock, but was repaired / sanded. This occurred prior to my purchasing the bass, so I don't know any additional details:

I accidentally chipped a piece of the headstock gloss veneer off at a gig one night - cosmetic damage only.

Frets ~15-24:

Frets 9-16 showing Cirrus "C" inlay at 12th fret:

Nut through Fret 5:

Dents from previous owner(s) on front of bass:

There is some wear on the bridge and tuners, where the "gold" plating is wearing off:

There are also some other dents on the back, and also on the upper horn, near the strap button. There is a bit of buckle rash from previous owner(s) as well. The strap buttons are the Dunlop dual-design straploks, a picture here:

The bass in action, November 2009:

SOUNDS:
This bass sounds incredible - crystal clear, capable of any tone, and very responsive. A recording of this bass may be heard at
http://www.myspace.com/samanthaaurelio, in the song "Tell Me". There is a bass solo at 3:06 that covers the range of the instrument.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
~ Payment by Paypal (Preferred) or cash if local delivery
~ I am willing to drive up to 1 hour from Merchantville, NJ (08109) for a local delivery
~ This is a well-used bass, and was when I purchased it from Sam Ash. It is fully operational & sounds great, but is sold AS IS.
~ Let me know what else you want to see!
~ If desired, I will perform a setup on this bass prior to shipping - just let me know your preferences!
~ PRICE: $600.00 OBO

Help me move this bass!

I thought that bass looked familiar to one I had seen in Sam Ash way back when. They had a few during that time period go thru that store.

Do it, it's such a deal, I might grab it just to have a six string around.

This is very tempting, but I am currently building up my savings. There is nothing worse than buying a "great deal" before you can really afford it, and ending up deeper in the hole!

Hey Folks,

Thanks for the interest in this bass. It sounds great live or in a studio, and is a real joy to play!

The controls on this bass are Volume, pickup blend, and bass/mid/treble boost and cut. It is possible to attain a wide variety of tones, from a crisp slap to warm fingerstyle.

Lots of interest, but no offers yet. Let's pretend this is a limbo bar - how low can I go?

A healthy bump coming in 3.2.1...

All because I just enjoyed a nice sized bowl of coconut ice cream, price reduction.

This hurts me much more than it hurts you, but price is reduced to $560 shipped. This includes a brand new case ($60) and shipping (~$25 to $30). So the actual price you'd be paying for a Made in USA Peavey Cirrus Six String bass that plays and sounds great is ~$470, a couple hundred less than you could get in Sam Ash!

I'm going out of town this weekend, so if there is any interest over the weekend, I will respond late on Sunday evening. If purchased tomorrow, I will ship Monday at lunchtime, due to this weekend's travel, unless local delivery.

Paypal is the preferred method of payment.

And another photo to whet your appetite (in the middle of "Late in the Evening"):

This is the best price I've ever seen on a Peavey Cirrus, let alone a 6er which are the expensive variety. You'll spend (USED) $950+ on a redwood top like this!

Someone get it!

Saturday morning bump!

As I mentioned in my last post - I'm going out of town this weekend, but I will answer all communications either later Sunday evening or Monday morning.

The case comes WITH the bass. And if I were to separate them, the cost is the same. I'm not shipping a bass without a case. Sell it, give it to your kids for a sled, or keep your new (to you) Cirrus in it.

Thanks!
