Here's a nice beater backup or project for you Peavey/Precision guys out there. She has some serious mellow warm tone. The strings on it are some dead roundwounds that were there when I got it. When plugged in as it sits, the tone reminds me of "Whipping Post" by the Allman Bros.
The Bad:
- Battle scars aplenty, dings in the body, neck, scuffs and scratches on the headstock, etc.
- The white pickguard seems to be warped a bit below the pickup. Its basically raised about an 1/8th of inch. I dont know if this guard is original or if its just an ill fitting replacement.
- The D string tuning machine has a loose "clover". The clover part shakes a bit. The previous owner had duct tape on it. I took it off but the residue is still on it.
- May need a new input jack. Some of my cable seem to crackle in it while others don't. I have a new input jack in my shop that I can solder in for you if you want it. Its not SwitchCraft, but it'll work.
The Good-
Made in the USA
1.5" nut, comfy neck
would make an awesome resto or refin project.
You'll be pressed to find a MIA bass this cheap!
I'd like
$150 $
135 shipped to lower 48. No case but I might be able to find a gig bag if you want it.
