Ok, here is the scoop on this beautiful bass. It does have one electrical issue. I'm not handy nor am I patient, so my loss is your gain.
I bought this bass almost two years ago from a fellow TB'er. I paid a LOT of $$$ for the bass. I HATE to get rid of it, but I have two other USA MILLS and really don't need to mess with this one. The previous owner extended with battery leads for easier access.
The ONLY flaw is that there is a hum coming from the bridge pickup. At home, and at normal volumes, you don't hear it. BUT if you play with any power or volume, you will hear it. I know its there because my other Milly's don't do it!
NO CASE with this one, I sold it off recently. I was even considering part it out, but don't have the heart to do it.
This bass is LIKE NEW with what appears to be the factory protective wrap on the rear plastic covers!! I can't find a mark on it, with the exception of the neck screws were lightly filed to smooth out some snags on the screws!
Has the Hipshot hardware and the stock drop "D" tuner.
The bass is STUNNING visually, and with a LITTLE tinkering, should be as good as new!!!
I just DON'T KNOW if it has a BAD GROUND, or a BAD PICKUP. I spoke to a tech guy over at Peavey and he feels it's most likely the pickup, but didn't rule out the possibility of a new board. But then he changed his mind, saying it would hum out of both pickups if it was a board. SO, I have NO idea what it is!
A new MILLY board is $56.00. I don't remember his quoted price if it was a pickup. This was a while ago, but the boards are still available.
Either way, you are getting a HECK of a deal here. I paid over $800.00 for this bass!!!! Its just been sitting in its case so I thought I'd just blow it out and let someone else fix & enjoy it.
IF I remember correctly, those are a brand new set of 45-105 Rotosound Swingbass 66 Strings on it. Give it a nice setup and you have a fantastic bass!
NO TRADES on this one guys, I have another Peavey on it's way and would rather hand the wife some cash to ease the blow when my Fury arrives!
